Funding is provided by the AICPA Foundation, with contributions from the New Jersey Society of CPAs and Robert Half International. For four decades, this program has provided over $14.6 million in scholarships to approximately 8,000 accounting scholars. For more information go to: ACS Scholarship Program Deadline: March 1, 2015 American Fire Extinguisher Scholarship Program The AFSA Scholarship Contest is open to high school seniors in the United States who plan to further their education at a college/university or certified trade school in the United States. The scholarship is not based on financial need. Relatives of AFSA staff or board members may not enter. You must be a high

3 school senior during the school year who will attend a college/university or trade school in the United States starting with the fall 2015 semester. Requirements: All applicants must read the "Fire Sprinkler Essay" (pdf) or (html) (approximately 3,000 words) about automatic fire sprinklers and take a ten-question multiple-choice test. This is an open-book test and you may print out the paper beforehand for reference during testing. For each question answered correctly, students will receive one (1) entry into a drawing for one of ten $2,000 scholarships. For each question answered incorrectly, you will be given one more chance at the end of the exam to answer those questions correctly. For more information, please go to: Deadline: April 1, 2015 American Legion Legacy Scholarship Through The American Legion Legacy Scholarship, the Legion works to ensure children of U.S. service members who died on or after Sept. 11, 2001, receive equal opportunities in their pursuit of higher learning. The Legacy Scholarship Fund awarded nearly $72,000 in scholarships to children of U.S. military personnel who died on active duty. Donations are welcome and greatly needed, as college costs rise and conflicts escalate overseas. More information Application: Deadline: April 15, 2015 ANS Incoming Freshman Scholarship ANS Incoming Freshman Scholarships are awarded to graduating high-school seniors who have enrolled, full-time, in college courses and are pursuing a degree in nuclear engineering or have the intent to pursue a degree in nuclear engineering. ANS will give a maximum of four Incoming Freshman Scholarships annually. Each award is $1000. The Scholarships are awarded based on an applicant s high school academic achievement, freshman college courses enrolled in, quality and content of 500-word essay, letters of recommendation by counselors and/or teachers, and other information. Deadline: April 1, 2015 APS Scholarship for Minority Undergraduates Physics Major Any African-American, Hispanic American, or Native American U.S. citizen or permanent resident who is majoring or planning to major in physics, and who is a high school senior, college freshman, or sophomore is eligible to apply for the scholarship $2,000-3,000 Deadline: February 14, 2015 Automotive Hall of Fame Scholarship The Automotive Hall of Fame serves as administrator to over $20,000 in combined college scholarships annually. The applicant must indicate a sincere interest in an automotive related career. The program has specific scholarships for incoming freshmen and upper-level undergraduate students. All of the scholarships are based on financial needs and with the usual minimum GPA requirement of 3.0. To be eligible for a scholarship you must: Submit a completed application form indicating a sincere interest in an automotive career. Provide an official transcript of all academic work. Submit two letters of recommendation supporting your automotive interests. Submit a letter of acceptance for an associate, bachelor, or master s program.

5 Chair Scholars Foundation Scholarship National Program Available to students in every state in the continental U.S., the National Scholarship Program provides eligible high school seniors and college undergrads up to $20,000 for tuition to attend the college or university of their choice. Florida Program The Florida Scholarship Program is available to 7th to 11th grade students attending public school in all Florida counties. These awards provide tuition for college or vocational school with Florida Prepaid Tuition Scholarships. To date, 502 scholarship have been awarded. 6 Deadline: Ongoing Common Knowledge Scholarships Developed and administered at Nova Southeastern University, the Common Knowledge Scholarship Foundation (CKSF) awards scholarships to students through Internet-based quiz competitions. CKSF reward students for demonstrating what they know. There is no essay writing or long applications to complete. Students receive scholarship awards based on common knowledge and basic education curricula. Students in grades 9 12 (must live in Broward, Dade, of Monroe County) can go on line and register to compete at Deadlines varies Daughters of the American Revolution National Society The NSDAR awards multiple scholarships to students showing dedication to the pursuit of an undergraduate degree in one of the following areas: history, political science, economics, government or nursing. The DAR Scholarship Committee awards scholarships to qualified applicants regardless of race religion, sex or national origin. All multi-year scholarships, typically renewable up to four years, must be for consecutive years of attendance at an accredited college or university in the United States. The ONLY exception is the American Indian Scholarship that is available for students pursuing vocational training. Deadline: May, 2015 Edison Scholars Program Open Now Deadline: February 1, 2015 The Edison Scholars Program, sponsored by Edison International, is offering aspiring scientists, mathematicians and engineers scholarships to pursue their education at a four-year colleges or universities. Graduating high school seniors who show potential for success in college and have financial need are encouraged to apply for this scholarship. Eligible students must live in or attend a public or private high school in areas serviced by Southern California Edison (SCE) or attend an eligible high school in the designated area surrounding SCE s San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS). Thirty renewable scholarships of $10,000/year up to $40,000 or the attainment of a bachelor s degree will be awarded. For more information, please visit their website at: Deadline: April 15, 2015 Florida Engineering Society Scholarships The Florida Engineering Society, an organization of approximately 3,800 engineers practicing throughout the state of Florida, is pleased to offer a scholarship program for graduating seniors interested in pursuing engineering careers. Six scholarships of $2,250 are being funded by the state organization, with additional scholarships, in an amount to be determined, funded by our local Miami chapter. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS Be a high school senior. Have been enrolled in one semester and will graduate form a FL school. Be a citizen of the United States at the time of application. G Have at least a 3.5 grade point average based on a 4.0 scale.

8 Attain a minimum test score on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), or the American College Testing Program (ACT). The minimum scores, listed on page two are used as a minimum threshold level, with actual test scores being weighted into the scoring process. Enroll in an engineering program accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). Deadline: February 2, 2015 Friends of 440 Scholarship The purpose of Friends of 440 Scholarship Fund is to aid dependents of workers who are injured in the course and scope of their employment and receive benefits under the Florida Workers' Compensation Law and who reside or whose accident occurred in the State of Florida. Applicants must not be related directly or indirectly to any member of the Board of Directors. Furthermore, dependents of individuals who primarily engage in the operation and/or administration of the Florida Workers' Compensation Law are eligible to receive the scholarship on a statewide basis. This scholarship is intended to aid students who lack the economic ability to continue education beyond high school or to further their college education. Applications must be submitted no later than February 28th of the year the scholarship is to be awarded. Seniors must have a parent/guardian who has been injured at work and is receiving benefits under the Florida Worker's Compensation Law; minimum 2.7 weighted GPA; copy of parents 2014 tax return; official high school transcript. The GE-Reagan

9 Foundation Scholarship Program is open to students who demonstrate the attributes of leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship similar to those exhibited by President Ronald Reagan. Like President Reagan, candidates use the formative experiences of their youth to lead, serve, and pursue a life of purpose and significance, both individually and for their communities. Recent history of movement for agricultural employment - priority will be given to currently interstate migrant youth. Eligibility To be eligible for a Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship, an applicant must: Be a graduating, minority high school senior; Plan to attend an accredited and approved four year institution within the United States; Show leadership potential; Demonstrate a dedication to community service; Present evidence of financial need; Be a United States citizen; A minimum SAT score of 1,000 combined on the math and critical reading sections or a composite ACT score of 21; and Not possess a degree from a 2 or 4 year College when applying for the scholarship. Application Components The required components of the Jackie Robinson Foundation application are: A completed and submitted online application; One (1) letter of recommendation submitted online only SAT or ACT scores sent to the Foundation directly from the testing agencies. The Foundation s college codes are: SAT 4248/ACT: You will need to have a copy of your SAT or ACT scores and your latest high school transcript in order to complete the questions on the online application. It does not make individual grants. All scholarships and grants are made through selected institutions. The Foundation believes that education can empower disadvantaged people to improve their economic circumstances and quality of life. 11 Kohl s Kids Who Care Sponsored by Kohl s Department Stores, Inc., is open to children ages 6 through 18 who reside in Kohl s Department Store communities and who have not graduated from high school. 12 Alec Kessler Student-Athlete Scholarship: Awarded to student who excels in academics & community service, participates in a sport and has a financial need. ELIGIBILITY In order to be considered for any of our three HEAT Scholarships, the student must meet the following criteria: Applicant must be a high school student enrolled in a Miami-Dade, Broward, or Palm Beach County public or private school. Applicant must have a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.2 by the end of the second grading period of their senior year. Applicant must submit an official transcript from the high school registrar along with a copy of their SAT and/or ACT score. Applicant must have an unmet financial need for assistance. In order to prove a financial need, please submit a copy of the household s W2 form(s) and a copy of the last tax filing (i.e form) for all household members. Letters to be submitted by applicant: Two (2) letters of recommendation each from a current high school teacher or administrator on school letterhead. Two (2) or more letters from a community based organization, on that organization s letterhead verifying community service and hours performed. One (1) letter from High School Athletic Director or Coach verifying candidate s participation in a high school sport.* Applicant must be accepted to and enroll in a four year accredited college or university in the USA. Please submit a copy of the letter of acceptance to the four year accredited college or university. Applicant must complete a writing sample as outlined in the application form For more information, please go to: Deadline: April 4, 2015 NROTC Scholarship Program (For Juniors for next year) Eligibility Requirements The Navy adheres to strict moral, physical and academic standards. This applies to students in the NROTC program. Here is a list of some of the basic requirements to apply for the program. You must: Be a U.S. citizen Be not less than 17 years old by September 1 of year starting college and no more than 23 on June 30 of that year Not have reached your 27th birthday by June 30 of the year in which your graduation and commissioning are anticipated Have acquired a high school graduation or equivalency certificate by August 1 of the year you plan to enter the NROTC program Have no moral obligations or personal convictions that prevent conscientious bearing of arms and supporting and defending the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign or domestic Be physically qualified by Navy standards Not have 30 or more semester hours or 45 or more quarter hours of college credit upon application Application You may start the application process during the second semester of your junior year of high school. No other means of providing scores to the program is acceptable. Scores forwarded directly from the applicant or a school will not be accepted. The minimum SAT scores are 530 Critical Reading, 520 Math The minimum ACT scores are 21 Math, 22 English Graduates in the top 10% of their class will be considered Scores will be accepted no earlier than Feb. 15 and will not be accepted after December 31

13 For full details and online application see website at: MPAS Scholars Award The MPAS Scholars Award is a tuition-based scholarship available to incoming freshman at Florida International University. This award places a major emphasis on identifying and developing emerging leaders. It pays $1000 toward tuition per semester and is renewable each year (fall and spring terms only) for a total of four years with an academic performance of a 2.75 GPA or above and enrollment in a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester. To participate in the MPAS Scholarship selection process, the student must be: a high school senior with a weighted high school GPA of 3.2 or better; be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States; be a Florida resident; have a proven track record of leadership; submit a resume and letter of recommendation; write a statement of purpose that articulates his or her strengths as they pertain to his or her career plans and leadership objectives and describe how the MPAS Scholars award will help him or her achieve those goals; have submitted a completed admissions packet to FIU, along with official transcripts and SAT/ACT scores prior to the scholarship deadline.
