Visitors to the Varsity Tutors scholarship webpage are able to vote via social media for submitted entries. The top five entries with the most votes are reviewed by Varsity Tutors at the end of the month and one winner is chosen to receive the scholarship. Interested students can enter the contest at $100 UniversityTutor.com will conduct a scholarship essay contest by posting a monthly essay prompt. To enter, log on to the website and submit essay by 11:59 PM Eastern Standard time by the last day of the contest period. Contest is open to anyone that is 16 years of age or older. Each essay must be at least 300 words. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0, exhibit community and school involvement, and demonstrate financial need. Work experience is a consideration. Applications available in the office. 4/8/18 (first round) $10,000 Whether through essays or multimedia, students have used their voices to share visions for a better world. High school seniors are asked to submit a proposal for how they ll better their communities. It consists of a 3 round process, using principles of design thinking. For detailed information, visit 4/9/18 This scholarship is available to females who will be graduating from high school in June, plan to attend a four year university or college as a full time student and has a cumulative non-weighted GPA of 3.0. Additionally, applicant must be involved in extra curricular and/or community activities. Applications available in the office. 4/11/18 by 4:00 PM $500 applicants must be a graduating 12 th grade student who has completed their K-12 education in Riverside Unified School District. Qualified students must have exhibited above average academic performance, the potential for leadership, involvement in school activities, and acceptance for admission to a vocational school or to an accredited college or university. The student s financial need shall also be a criteria for selection. Applications available in the office. 4/13/18 $500 The Citrus Belt Area Athletic Director s Association provides scholarships annually to senior student athletes from Riverside and San Bernardino area high schools. This year there are $500 1

Applications are available in the office. Link Crew 4/13/18 $500 Every year The Boomerang Project offers ten, $500 scholarships to outstanding senior Link Leaders. The criteria used for allocating scholarships are based on the following: individual initiative, successful impact, sustainable change and action above and beyond the call of duty. This scholarship is open to all graduating senior Link Leaders who have completed at least one year of service as a Link Leader. To apply: download and complete the application, submit with a letter of recommendation from a Link Coordinator (applications will not be accepted if letter of recommendation is missing.) All RUSD graduating seniors are eligible to apply. At least one of the twelve scholarships is designated for the son or daughter of an RCTA member, no matter from which high school he/she may be graduating. Students selected for consideration will be applicants who demonstrate excellence in academics (3.0 GPA or higher) and who have shown leadership in community activities or in RUSD schools. Watts Humanitarian Student View Program 4/15/18 $500 + laptop computer 4/22/18 $500, $1,000 & $4,000 This scholarship recognizes graduating seniors with potential for service and leadership. Criteria includes: minimum 2.5 GPA and active involvement in leadership roles in school and in the community. Preference will be given to students demonstrating financial need. Applicants will be judged on academic achievement (2.5 minimum GPA), leadership in school activities, commitment to the community, goals and determination and financial need. You may be asked for an interview. Applications available in the office. 4/30/18 $500 The CSEA Award Program provides financial assistance to dependent children of CSEA Chapter #506 members. Applicant must be a graduating high school senior, planning to enter full time an accredited college by the fall term following the granting of scholarship. Applicant must have at least one parent or legal guardian who is a member in good standing of CSEA Riverside Chapter #506. Applications are available in the office. 5/1/18 $1,000 The Law Offices of Larry H. Parker Community is a one-time $1,000 scholarship that will be awarded to 25 collegebound high school seniors. The Law Offices of Larry H. Parker, Inc. values education and offers this scholarship to empower community youth and provide resources to help them attend and stay in college. To qualify, high school seniors must complete the application form online which includes submitted a short essay or video on this year s select topic, a GPA of 2.5 or higher and submit all required fields online. Quirk Law Firm Foster Child Quirk Law Firm First Generation Athnet Sports Recruiting Abbott and Fenner Program United Energy Workers (UEW) Healthcare 5/31/18 $1,000 This scholarship is available to incoming college students who are currently or were placed in foster care, group home or private home of a state certified caregiver/foster parent.
