11 Transfer Credit Policy The Associate Degree in Nursing program has special considerations for transfer of credit: Once enrolled in the Nursing program at Bay State College, students may not take courses for credit at another institution. Requests for transfer credit must be made at the time of admission to the College. Below are the courses eligible for transfer credit along with required grade Anatomy and Physiology I/II: Requires a grade of B or higher in both lecture and lab General Microbiology: Requires a grade of B or higher in both lecture and lab English II: Requires a grade of B or higher Human Lifespan Development: Requires a grade of C+ or higher Computer and Information Literacy: Requires a grade of C+ or higher Note: Sciences for transfer must be from within the past 5 years. The Program Chair may require that students either audit a portion of a course or the entire course in order to accept transfer credits. Students may be required to demonstrate knowledge and competence in course content in order to transfer credit.

12 Advanced Placement Policy Students that have met the admissions criteria may request advanced placement for the fundamentals course in their nursing curriculum. To receive advanced placement, the student must have achieved a minimum grade of an 80 for the first attempt of this course. Students repeating fundamentals, even with a grade of 80 or above, will not be given advanced placement. Students must take the ATI fundamentals proctored assessment at Bay State College. A level 2 must be achieved on the first attempt of this exam. Students will receive transfer credit for the fundamentals course if they are awarded advanced placement. Students must attend lab sessions to be passed off on fundamentals competencies, to be scheduled by nursing program for late August.

17 ADN Admissions Criteria GPA of 2.7 or greater (at the college level)* At least one college lab science with a C or higher Placement exam into English 102 & Math 104 or higher TEAS score of 65 overall and 70 on reading comprehension Interview with Admissions and secure the recommendation of a member of the Bay State College Admissions team member *Applicants applying as first time college students or having attended college with less than 12 credits must have a high school GPA of 3.0 and a Life Science course including a lab of at least a grade of C.

18 ADN Preparation Path AS in Health Studies Offered in Day (Semester) and Evening (8 week terms) formats Certain aspects of AND Admissions Criteria not initially met/achieved Dean requires prospective Nursing student to demonstrate proficiency in science Numerous Bay State College Health Studies students are being granted acceptance to the ADN Fall 2018 cohort by the Nursing Dean following successful academic performance in the Health Studies program. Important Note: Enrollment and completion of courses in our AS in Health Studies program does not guarantee acceptance to our ADN program. All students must meet with the Dean of Nursing to review candidacy.

21 Fall 2018 Nursing Application Deadline To be considered for acceptance to the Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) cohort class of Fall 2018, completed applications (including all supporting documents) must be received by August 13, Cohort space is limited. Applications received after the August 13th deadline will be processed on a spaceavailable basis.

Registered nurses in Massachusetts are the fourth highest paid in the United States behind California, Hawaii, and the District of Columbia. The average RN wage in Massachusetts is $42.95 an hour with an annual salary of $89,330.
