Essam Abdulmohsen Al-Marzouq, Minister of Electricity & Water/Minister of Oil, KPC recently organized the 2 nd Kuwait International Health, Safety and Environment Conference & Exhibition at the Regency Hotel. The event took place over the course of two days. H.E. the Minister of Oil presided over the inauguration of the conference on the first day along with the Omani Minister of Oil & Gas, H.E. Mohammed Hamad Al-Rumhy. Saudi Aramco Senior VP, Operations & Business Services Dr. Muhammad Al-Saggaf, and OAPEC Secretary General Abbad Al-Naqi were also present during the opening ceremony. The list of speakers included a number of CEOs from Kuwait s oil sector such as KPC CEO Nizar Al-Adsani, KOC CEO Jamal Abulaziz Jaafar, KNPC CEO Mohammad Al- Mutairi, EQUATE Petrochemical Company CEO Mohammad Hussain, and KUFPEC CEO Sheikh Nawaf Al-Sabah. A group of experts, HSE specialists and decision makers from the largest operational oil companies and national, regional and international service companies attended the event. Included among them was KFAS Director General Adnan Shihab-Eldin. The conference was held in order to reflect the strong belief of regional leaders that matters related to HSE are important. In part, the conference aimed to show a commitment and adherence to HSE regulations by hosting discussions which focused on how to work on and improve HSE matters. In this regard, panel discussions comprised of international oil and gas leaders addressed the major challenges facing the HSE sector and associated activities that are considered fundamental to all energy companies in the region. 2 2 Senior KOC Officials Visit Ahmadi Hospital On the occasion of the National & Liberation Day holiday As part of its annual activity during the National and Liberation Day celebrations, KOC s higher management recently visited patients at Ahmadi Hospital. Hospital Manager Dr. Emad Al-Awad accompanied the delegation during the visit, which included Acting CEO Abdullah Al-Sumaiti, DCEO CSD Yousef Ali, DCEO (NK) Badriah Abdul Rahim, and Public Relations & Information Group Manager Mohammad Al-Basry. During the visit, the delegation distributed gifts to patients in an effort to spread happiness and joy on this special occasion. On the sidelines of the visit, Al-Sumaiti congratulated the hospital patients and wished them a speedy recovery so that they could be reunited with their families soon. He upheld the importance of these visits and also commended the work put forth by the nursing staff and medical personnel in their effort to relieve the patients from their suffering.

3 3 KOC Takes Part in National & Liberation Day Celebrations Various KOC Teams worked toward highlighting Company operations As part of Kuwait s National and Liberation Day celebrations, KOC recently participated in the three-day celebration that took place along the Arabian Gulf Road. The Company took part in the celebration by dedicating a bus to the festivities which represented the Company s operations. The bus was prepared by the Mobile Plant Maintenance Team, Central Workshop Team, Transport Operations Team and the Information Team. The efforts put forth by the Teams resulted in a beautiful and distinguished show that conforms to the name and reputation of KOC. The Company s participation during the celebrations received the appreciation of all who attended the National and Liberation Day festivities. In addition, the Marine Operations Group took part in the celebrations through a display of the Company s fleet that included three different vessels specializing in maritime operations and activities. Meanwhile, a special booth was prepared to direct messages of appreciation to H.H. the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah titled Sabah Al-Kuwait.

4 4 Delegation from Diwan Al-Amiri Visits KOC Visiting officials toured the Ahmad Al-Jaber Oil & Gas Exhibition KOC recently hosted a delegation from the Engineering Department of the Diwan Al-Amiri, headed by Assistant Undersecretary Niaz Khaja. The visiting delegation was provided with a tour of the Ahmad Al-Jaber Oil & Gas Exhibition during their visit to the Company. Public Relations & Information Group Manager Mohammad Al-Basry received the visiting delegation and accompanied them on a tour of the exhibition, which aims to introduce visitors to the successful history of Kuwait s oil industry. The visiting delegation toured all sections of the exhibition, where they met with trained staff who provided them with explanations of the various exhibits. KOC officials have maintained that the Ahmad Al-Jaber Oil & Gas Exhibition is an important public feature for KOC and the State of Kuwait. At the conclusion of the event, members of the visiting delegation commended the unique experience and expressed their pleasure and pride in this pioneering landmark for KOC. Financial Reporting Team Organizes Workshop KOC officials and McKinsey & Co. employees attended Under the supervision of Team Leader Faisal Al-Loughani, the Financial Reporting Team recently organized a workshop that highlighted the growing role of finance and the latest opportunities offered by digitalization in the domain of planning management and performance enhancement. The workshop was attended by Manager Financial Systems and Control Group Abdullah Al-Shammari, a number of Team Leaders and senior employees from various Groups, and a representative from McKinsey & Co., who presented a lecture during the event. The event, which was also attended by McKinsey & Co. employees, aimed to increase knowledge sharing and awareness for staff from both companies, as officials from both sides affirmed their strong business ties and upheld the importance of exploring avenues for further professional engagement to advance KOC s financial and administrative processes.

During the meeting, Al-Amer took the opportunity to recognize their willingness and enthusiasm to be involved in this international initiative. Meanwhile, the T&CD Group employees shared their experiences and discussed how proud they were to be KOC envoys during the events that happened internationally. The T&CD Group has been working on developing and enhancing KOC s External Conference Management as a business process with foundations that foster a learning organization leveraged by the potential that international conferences offer to KOC employees. By exchanging information during the knowledge sharing activities and networking with professionals from around the world, KOC employees are able to develop their technical competence while promoting an organizational culture of planning for various conferences. The T&CD Group is committed to Walk the Talk. During the past fiscal year, an initiative was launched to increase the number of Group conference attendants as presenters. Al-Amer has led the project in cooperation with Dr. Olimpia Salas Guzman, and as a result of this new strategy, KOC has experienced a substantial increase in the ratio of attendees to presenters. Awareness Session on New Tenders Law & Regulations Conducted by Commercial Support Group The Commercial Support Group, represented by Manager Ibrahim Faraj, recently conducted an awareness session on the commencement of the implementation of the new tender, Law No. 49/2016, after its publication in the Official Gazette (Kuwait Today). The session aimed to explain the most prominent implications of the law and its executive regulations on contractual activities at KOC, where this law requires subjecting all KPC subsidiaries to its regulations in items purchase operations, contracting and services. The session was presented by Commercial Specialist from the Contract & Purchasing Services Team, Mohammad Morra, and was attended by employees from various Teams in the Group. During the session, questions were answered in regard to the new law s implications on workflow, especially considering KOC is one of the public bodies subject to the regulations of the Public Tender Law. It should be noted that the implementation of the contractual procedures, which began under the previous Public Tender Law No. 37/1964, did not end until the date of the (new) Law No. 49/2016 and must continue until the completion of all its procedures. 6 6 Geo Steering Center Reopened Fields Development Group Manager and Team Leaders attended event In the presence of Fields Development Group (S&EK) Manager Farida Ali and other Team Leaders, the team dedicated to following up on the steered drilling of geological operations organized an event on the occasion of the reopening of the Geo Steering Center, which studies and works on wells in South & East Kuwait. The event included a lecture related to the latest developments and accomplishments since the center was established and reopened after the successful execution of the project, which was personally supervised by the Manager. The concerned team made sure to safely and appropriately steer horizontal wells to achieve KOC s required objectives, and their efforts culminated in drilling and steering about 35 wells to depths that resulted in optimum production. During the lecture, Chief Geologist and Geo Steering Center Coordinator Hussein Bahman said that the facility represents added value to all types of steered drilling - not only in producing wells, but also where injection, water elimination, drilling control and well steering is required within the set plan for the targeted reservoir. In conclusion, Manager Farida Ali and the attending Team Leaders honored the team members and thanked them for their efforts. Inspection & Corrosion Team (N&WK) Organizes Presentation Event held at the New Office Complex in NK The Inspection & Corrosion Team (North & West Kuwait) recently organized a technical presentation and awareness session on the Inspection & Corrosion Team s roles and responsibilities. The session included a live demonstration of various instances of damage and corrosion seen in North Kuwait facilities. The interactive session was conducted for the North Kuwait Directorate under the supervision of Saleh Al-Sulaiman, Team Leader I&CT (N&WK) by Mahmoud Al-Rasheedi, Inspection Engineer I&CT (N&WK) at the New Office Complex auditorium in North Kuwait. The session included topics that covered the role of I&CT, common damage found at KOC, applicable codes and standards, inspection techniques and case studies. The session was then followed by a group discussion which covered various topics related to inspection and corrosion.

7 7 HSE (D&T) Team Holds First Aid Awareness Session For Drilling Rig Camp Supervisors In order to provide first aid response to rig crews by rig camp supervisors, the HSE (D&T) Team in collaboration with Ahmadi Hospital (Ambulance Section) recently organized a first aid awareness at the rig site. HSE Team Leader Fahad Al Dhamen welcomed the attendees and emphasized how a quick first aid response can reduce the severity of an illness/injury or make the difference between life and death. First aid can also help protect businesses by reducing the impact an accident can have on productivity and the cost of employees taking leave. Ambulance paramedics from Ahmadi Hospital Saleh Al- Turki and Taher Al-Mubarak spoke about the basics of First Aid, preserving life and minimizing serious injury by maintaining breathing and blood circulation, stemming blood, mending broken bones, and other issues related to emergency first aid care. Certificates of attendance were provided by the HSE Team and Ahmadi Hospital at the end of the session. Basheer Malik, Drilling Hygienist from the HSE Team, coordinated the program. The session was part of other similar sessions held for Drilling Rig Camp Supervisors based on recommendations from medical case incident investigations. Corporate Projects Team III Hosts Presentation for New Employees Striving for Excellence As part of KOC s effort to develop its human resources, which it considers its most valuable asset, Senior Projects Engineer Bassam Al-Otaibi from the Corporate Projects Team III presented a lecture titled Striving for Excellence which was attended by a number of newly appointed employees. During the lecture, Al-Otaibi elaborated on the importance of being a distinguished employee by mastering one s tasks a feature of all successful organizations. He also touched on the difference between fulfilling duties and responsibilities and performing them with excellence. Furthermore, Al-Otaibi also explained the meaning of the comfort zone, and how most people are afraid to leave it, which hinders their development. He also focused on the importance of leaving the comfort zone and overcoming challenges in order to reach excellence. He then provided examples of daily routines that may help employees understand obstacles and limits in order for them to move forward.

Among those activities is the Nawwarat Al-Ahmadi Festival that took place at Ahmadi Stadium, where a large crowd enjoyed the activities presented by popular folklore bands and the various recreational activities that added an atmosphere of joy for participants and their families. Meanwhile, the HR Team (Export Operations & Marine Operations) participated in the 15 th Al-Faresi Kite Festival that displayed creative kite presentations of different sizes and shapes. The Company also set up booths to raise awareness among chalet-goers and campers about the importance of environmental preservation. Furthermore, the Company also made an effort to raise awareness among bikers about the importance of personal protection equipment.
