3 Fund story: Marilu Flores-Huerte Highlighted at White House Summit on Upskilling the American Workforce in April. Marilu, 34, was a cashier and recepconist at Kaiser and struggled to provide for her kids and her family. Marilu used the Ed Fund to complete her college pre-reqs and cardiovascular ultrasound program at City College of San Francisco. The Ed Fund provided tuicon assistance, scpend and counseling criccal to her success. In 2014, she became a cercfied cardiac sonographer at Kaiser, doubling her wages. Her next goal is to become a nurse praccconer. I see a lot of cardiac pacents that keep coming back to the hospital, in large part due to their diet and lifestyle, she said. I want to teach pacents about their condicons and help them stay healthy and out of the hospital.
