Key Dates: Nominations open: 8:30am Wednesday 13 September 2017 Nominations close: 5:00pm Friday 17 November 2017 Appendix A Camp Participant Nomination Form Appendix B Leader Nomination Form Surf Life Saving WA strives to deliver initiatives targeted at engaging our youth members with the aim of developing future leaders of our organisation. Season 2017/18 will see SLSWA deliver two youth orientated camps; 1. Rise Up Camp The Rise Up Camp is designed to cater for 15 and 16 year old members. This camp provides an opportunity for members to participate in a wide range of physical and social activities that will develop personal leadership skills. Age Group: U17s Venue: Pemberton Camp School, Pemberton Date: 8 11 January 2017 Cost: $ per person Departure: Surf Life Saving Western Australia (7 Delawney Street, Balcatta WA 6021) Participants: 48 - Minimum of 1 position per club with the extremely high possibility of additional positions offered to clubs based on the size of their youth membership Leaders: 4 2. Teamwork, Opportunity and Development (TOAD) Camp The TOAD Camp is a development program open to 13 and 14 year old members. The camp is designed to expose participants to a variety of skills and activities that will enhance and encourage their development within our organisation. Age Group: U14s and U15s Venue: Kingstown Barracks, Rottnest Island Date: January 2017 Cost: $ per person Departure: Rous Head, Northport Terminal Rous Head Participants: 70 Club Allocation: Leaders: 7 Minimum of 2 positions per club with the possibility of additional positions offered to clubs based on the size of their youth membership

2 Application Process Potential applicants are required to complete a Camp Participant Nomination Form (Appendix A) and submit to their club for endorsement. Clubs are asked to rank applications and submit to SLSWA by 11:00am Friday 17 November Further information and forms will be sent to successful applicants. Camp Leader Positions Club volunteers are invited to apply for camp leader positions on all three camps. This is a great opportunity to enhance leadership skills and clubs are asked to identify and encourage members that they believe would be suitable for this role. All Camp Leaders must have the following pre-requisite qualifications: Be a minimum of 18 years of age. Be a current registered member of an SLSWA club. Possess a Current Bronze Medallion. Possess a Current Western Australian Working with Children Check Potential leaders are invited to submit a Leaders Nomination Form (Appendix B), signed and endorsed by a club official by the closing Date 11:00am Friday 4 November Further information and forms will be sent to successful applicants. Announcement of Leaders and Participants All successful participants and leaders will be notified the week commencing 20 November 2017.

3 Regional Club Assistance To assist regional clubs in getting members to attend these camps, a travel subsidy will be available. These subsidies are financial assistance to get campers to and from the departure/return point. In the case of the Rise Up Camp this is SLSWA, 7 Delawney Street, Balcatta. In the case of the T.O.A.D Camp this is Rous Head, Northport Terminal. For the following regions: Peel, South-West, Great Southern and Mid-west the subsidy is for vehicle transport to the departure/return point. Should there be more than three members attending the camp an additional subsidy can be requested. (Maximum 2 cars) 2. *For clubs in the South-west region there will be an opportunity for campers attending the Rise-Up Camp to be picked up and returned from Bridgetown. A reduced subsidy of $50 per car will apply for this option. 3. *For clubs in the Great Southern region there will be an opportunity for campers attending the Rise-Up Camp to arrive and depart direct from the Pemberton Camp School. A reduced subsidy of $100 per car will apply for this option. Notes re Table 2; 1. For the following regions: Goldfields, Pilbara and Kimberley a subsidy will be available for each individual attending the camp due to their distance from the departure/return point.
