After you complete this form, you will be able to submit your nomination which is the first step of a two-part process. If information to fulfill the nominations criteria is not included, the application will not be accepted for review by the judges. New Immigrant Entrepreneur of the Year Successful business for 3-5 years and 5 + employees. Demonstrates adaptation of Canadian culture and has created employment or internship opportunities. Strong community involvement. 50% -100% immigrant ownership. Women Entrepreneur of the Year Successful business 3+ years, 3+ employees. Role model for other Women and youth. Showcases leadership. Strong community involvement. List outstanding achievements, awards, initiatives if any received in the past 3 years. Best Employer of the Year Successful business 5+ years, 10+ employees. Employer that has demonstrated, recognised by its employees and community as best overall place to work. Employee retention is high, promotes work life balance. Diverse workforce. Examples are welcome in the write up. Best Technology & Innovation Successful business 3+ years in existence, 3+ employees OR is an Existing business 5+ years, is using or have implemented Technology and Innovation in the last 2-+3 years, 10+ employees. Must not be an expansion of existing company, company that has switched names or company that has added a new location. Demonstrates use of technology, have adopted new ways of doing business by efficient use of technology thus eliminating the wastage in terms of paper, time and energy. Demonstrates social media presence and or innovative marketing strategy/ initiatives. Environmentally sustainable. Community & Non-Profit Organisation of the Year Successful organisation 3+ years showcasing increased visibility via outreach programs within local community. Demonstrates increase in the number of volunteers participation current year up from previous years. Exceeded past years results fund raising, community awareness and or showcasing spending in new areas. Restaurant of the Year Successful business 3+ years, 3+ employees. Demonstrates a dedication to dining excellence, service and environmental friendliness. Distinguishes itself as a trend-setter or leader in food, beverage and service. Retail Business of the Year: Success business 3+ years, 5+ employees. Retails store with primary focus of selling goods and merchandise. Demonstrates quality products, expansion into new lines and customer service. Young Entrepreneur of the Year Ages between 6 years and 30 years old. Successful first year with potential to grow or 2+ years with potential to grow. Acts as inspiration to their peers and community at large. Interesting story in how they turned into an Entrepreneur. May demonstrate social media presence and or marketing innovation/strategy. Professional of the Year Successful professional 5+ years same industry. Showcases Leadership amongst peers in the industry. Exceptional initiatives benefiting community at large. Demonstrates Excellent customer service. Business Leader of the Year Successful business 10 + years, 10+employees. This award would go to a top-level individual (C-level, President/VP or equivalent) of a business of 3+ years with demonstrative leadership skills and business acumen that has propelled the company to exceed their company performance goals for the past 1-2 years. Can demonstrate how and why they are deemed to be a Leader amongst direct or indirect industry peers. Demonstrates fast growth via business expansion as in high sales growth or increased market share domestically or internationally. Shows leadership either in customer service, or product quality, or in general is always seen as an inspiring leader to others in the industry. Strong community involvement. Service Business of the Year Successful Business 5+ years and 8+. The business is primarily focused in providing a service, with the sale of products being secondary. E.g realtors, brokers, insurance firms, landscaping, hair salons, spas or home improvement contractors. Excellent customer service personal or business- share examples or client experiences that made you stood out. Strong community involvement. Environmentally sustainable OR showcases innovative process, leading to efficiency in the service offering. Business of the Year Successful business 5+ years, 10+ employees. This award is presented to a business who has displayed strong passion, success, work ethics. Strong community involvement. Strong growth in terms of expansion of space, employees and market share. 1
