INFANT BAPTISM Parents requesting baptism for their children under 7 years old must attend a mandatory preparation class offered every other month. Please call the Parish Office in advance for scheduling or other information. Infant baptisms are the last Sunday of each month. MARRIAGES/MARRIAGE PREPARATION Couples seeking the sacrament of marriage must be registered parishioners who are actively participating in the life of St. George Roman Catholic Parish. 3 FR. PINTI S 65th BIRTHDAY BREAKFAST CELEBRATION Friday, September 21, 2018 After the 8:00 a.m. Mass (No Adoration that day) All parishioners are welcome! Did you know? About Cremated Remains. The cremation instructions call attention to the care taken of the cremated remains. They should be treated with the same respect we give to the body of the deceased. The remains are to be placed in a worthy vessel which then is carried and transported with the same respect and attention given to a casket carrying a body. Their final disposition is equally important, The cremated remains should be buried in a grave or entombed in a mausoleum or columbarium (a cemetery vault designed for urns containing ashes of the dead). The practice of scattering cremated remains on the sea, from the air, or on the ground, or keeping cremated remains in the home of a relative or friend of the deceased are not the reverent disposition that the Church requires. The instructions also state that, if at all possible, the place of entombment should be marked with a plaque or stone memorializing the deceased. As time moves on, remind us of the call to remain open-hearted. May our memory not harden into fear and anger, but pulse with compassion and generosity. It is designed to assist each individual in their faith journey, and to help them discern where the Holy Spirit is leading them. R.C.I.A. is for those not baptized who desire to respond to God s invitation. It is also for those already baptized, but not in the Catholic Church or for those who were baptized in the Catholic Church but have not received Holy Communion or been Confirmed.
