1 Dear Prospective Member, Thank you for your interest in becoming a new member of the Captiva Island Yacht Club. The enclosed materials highlight our membership program as well as the boating, dining, and social opportunities of our unique club. We belong to the Florida Council of Yacht Clubs, and our members have reciprocity with 37 prestigious clubs throughout Florida, and will also enjoy reciprocity with the over 700 clubs belonging to the Yachting Club of America registry, located throughout the US. We are a member owned club and we thrive on member participation in the many boating, social, and operational aspects of the club. We have a reputation as a friendly, hospitable club, and both members and guests enjoy the casual, welcoming atmosphere. We maintain an active cruising schedule of both luncheon cruises and extended overnight cruises. Non boat owners are always welcome to participate by making arrangements with the cruise captain. Dining is a delight at our club, as we are blessed with an outstanding chef. Gourmet Wine Dinners, special events and seasonal changes keep our menus fresh and exciting. Casual dining is available in our bar and on the Commodore s Porch and the Sunset Deck. Our exceptional location provides stunning views and access to both the Gulf of Mexico and Roosevelt Channel. As one of only two clubs in the Florida Council of Yacht Clubs to actually own beach frontage. We consider ourselves to be a beach club as well, providing adequate parking, outdoor accessible restrooms, beach chairs, umbrellas, and the advantage of being able to call in a food order to be enjoyed on our outdoor porches or picnic area. Sunsets are spectacular from our Sunset Deck. Our bay frontage is ideal for kayaking the intriguing mangrove canals of Buck Key or paddle boarding the scenic Roosevelt Channel. Members have the free use of the club kayaks and paddle boards. You will find our Cruise Schedule, Social Calendar, membership application and fee schedule included in this packet. If you would like to be considered for membership, please complete the application with sponsorship and references and submit to the Club office.
