Contracted Dispatch Services Law Enforcement Dispatch Services are included in the contract pricing for the jurisdictions that contract for Law Enforcement Services. The following agencies contract for Law Enforcement Dispatch Services: Lake Angelus P.D. Oakland Community College P.D. Walled Lake P.D. Wixom P.D. Wolverine Lake P.D. Fire Dispatch Service is available from the Oakland County Sheriff's Office Central Dispatch. At the present time, the Oakland County Sheriff's Office provides contracted Fire Dispatch Services to the following departments: Addison Twp. F.D. Brandon Twp. F.D. Commerce Twp. F.D Oakland Twp. F.D. Springfield Twp. F.D. Franklin Bingham Farms F.D. North Oakland Fire Authority F.D. Highland Twp. F.D. Lyon Twp. F.D. Independence Twp. F.D. Star EMS - City of Pontiac City of Rochester Hills F.D. City of Wixom F.D. City of Walled Lake F.D. * The only communications center in the State that uses EMD, EFD and EPD
Dispatch Contract Rates The Oakland County Board of Commissioners establishes the following per call fire and police dispatch service rates for the period April 1, 2012, through March 31, Fire dispatch per call $24.47 $24.96 $25.46 Police dispatch per FTE per year $5,408 $5,516 $5,626 The average number of calls for service from the previous two years multiplied by the charge per call equals the base year charge.
Proprietary vs. Contractual Services LIABILITY All liability arising out of the conduct of the contracted Deputies whether they are acts or omissions shall be the sole responsibility of the County of Oakland. The contract will hold the contracting entity harmless while assuming all liability for all conduct, including motor vehicle operation.
Proprietary vs. Contractual Services (continued) TRANSFER OF PERSONNEL Should it become necessary to remove a contracted deputy from his/her assignment in the contracting entity, the elected official need only to request the Deputy's transfer. It has been found that not all employees fit into all areas. If a Deputy is not compatible with the area, he/she will be transferred to another work location where he/she might be more acclimated.
Contract Implementation and Cancellation A contract could start as soon as it is signed by the local officials, the Sheriff, the Board of Commissioners, and the County Executive. The contract can be terminated by either side, for any reason, by giving ninety (90) days written notice.
