Relation of CBHE project with internationalisation policy and fund raising: does your institution have a an integrated policy for fund raising? Why is that important?
WHY DO WE GET INVOLVED IN ERASMUS PLUS? Capacity building in developing countries is ITC s central theme. ITC receives core funding from Dutch government, hence tends to focus on Ploumen themes. Over 60 years ITC has established very large international collaboration network and many partners. Generally less national and international funding currently available for development project activities. We were extensively involved in former Erasmus Mundus actions. Erasmus Plus is highly suitable for the type of capacity development initiatives we pursue.

Background Development Proces CBHE
Do s & Don ts: What is according to you the three golden rule when developing a CBHE project (do)? And what should you avoid (don t)?
STARTING IN ERASMUS PLUS MAIN CONSIDERATIONS Only initiate projects in subject fields in which you have sufficient expertise and available staff capacity. Make sure project objectives realistic. Try and partner with institutions with whom you have experience and trust. Check foreign regulations and procedures. Be aware that E+ funding does not cover full staff costs. High administrative requirements. Consider realistic chances of sustainable relationship.
DO s Build relations Embed in context Equal participation & delivery Explore needs The magic of time Explain, explain, explain Argumentation DON Ts Loose patience Assume Loose overview
Acting as coordinator, partner (or associated partner): what to choose? What are the risks and the benefits?
PARTNER OR COORDINATOR? PARTNER So far, we have only been involved as partner. Less burden in management and administration. Quite onerous task to coordinate if many partners, particularly if foreign counterparts are in less familiar countries. COORDINATOR More control over central thrust of the project. More able to set agenda and outcomes More able to build closer links with counterparts
Better to try and not succeed than not to try at all!

And then the application has been selected Now what? Turning a succesful application into a project
