17 PLANNING ACTIONS Establish Eglin Installation Growth Committee to facilitate the Growth Management Planning initiative. Establish the Policy Committee and Technical Advisory Group for the Tri- County Joint Land Use Study.
18 Tri-County Joint Land Use Study Supported by the Office of Economic Adjustment (OEA). Eglin Air Force Base is sponsoring the grant application for the Tri-County Joint Land Use Study (JLUS). Okaloosa County will coordinate the effort. A Policy Committee and Technical Advisory Group will be established to work specifically on this project. These are separate working groups. The results of the JLUS will be incorporated into the Growth Management Plan Initiative.
19 Tri-County Joint Land Use Study The Joint Land Use Study (JLUS) is: A cooperative land use planning effort between military installations and the surrounding communities. It promotes compatible community growth that supports military training and operational missions. It may result in suggested changes to codes dealing with zoning and development.
20 Growth Management Planning Initiative OEA provides technical and financial assistance. Okaloosa County is sponsoring the grant application for the Growth Management Planning Initiative.

27 Eglin Installation Growth Committee Continued The purpose of each sub-committee is to discuss issues related to their topic, identify challenges and develop strategies to address those challenges. The sub-committees will then share this information with the Executive Committee. Individual members of the sub-committees will be responsible for presenting their organization s concerns to the sub-committee as well as provide feedback to their organization.
28 Eglin Installation Growth Committee Continued The purpose of the Executive Committee is to discuss the information received from each sub-committee, bring individual representative s concerns to the attention of the group and discuss and formulate strategies related to the Growth Management Plan Initiative. The chair of the Executive Committee will be responsible to bring information and action items to the Board of County Commissioners.
29 Eglin Installation Growth Committee Continued Individual members of the Executive Committee will be responsible for presenting their organization s or subcommittee s concerns to the Executive Committee as well as provide feedback to their organization or sub-committee.
30 Today s Mission Get to know your fellow sub-committee members. Elect a chairman, vice-chairman and someone to keep the minutes for the sub-committee. The Transportation, Education, Citizen Advisory committees need to each elect a representative to the Executive Committee. The representatives from State and Local Agencies need to elect a representative to the Executive Committee.
