Forces from October through June i967. 2, Unit Movements. 6 October An Advance Party consisting of 5 Officers and 108 men arrived at Camp Haskins to commence camp and construoti on takeover and BEEP. 27 3l;Oetober The main body arrived in RVN.. -' MAC c-1u aircraft. The major problem,.. shared Withi.other JilaNang"..based"bat_taJ.llons, which persisted for the first five mon"ths of the deployment, was an insufficient backlog of ver-tical construction, which inhibited most effective job planning, work scheduling, and manpower utilization. Other significant problems, such as heavy monsoon rains, and lack of spare parts support for certain new equipments.shipped to the battalion, likewise were not unique to NMCB 58 on this deployment.
