2 History care has been provided to U.S. Forces and family members in Europe since the end of WWII 1968 On July 1, the US Army Medical Command, Europe activated in Heidelberg 1978 On Sept. 21 the 7th Medical Command activated (replacing USARMEDCOMEUR)

12 Warrior Care in Europe Warrior Transition Battalion Europe (WTB-E) WTB-E is geographically dispersed across multiple locations in Europe o Remote care ability is critical o WTC ratios serve as a guide WTB-E contains USAREUR s IDES Team WTB-E receives relatively less non-dod resources than stateside WTUs o WWP, USO, and Red Cross are the major WTU donors in Europe o WTB-E has relatively less contractor personnel, internships, etc. (Adaptive Site Coordinators only) WTB-E maintains a small headquarters o Serves as WTO, HHC, and BN HQ Transition Training Academy WWP-sponsored IT program that equips Soldiers with critical computer skills and industry standard certifications Operation War Fighter Internships Federal department/agency internships across USAREUR 12
