Congre deignated CAP a the official Air Force Auxiliary in May 1948 and identified it three core miion emergency ervice, cadet program and aeropace education. CAP wa recognized in 2015 a part of the U.S. Air Force Total Force, which alo conit of regular Air Force, Air National Guard and Air Force Reerve, along with Air Force retired military and civilian employee. CAP more than 55,000 member tand ready to ait their nation, their tate and their communitie when called upon during time of need. The wing many community ervice effort are conducted in partnerhip with the State Veteran Home and VA Southern Nevada Healthcare Sytem, the Boulder City and Fernley Veteran' cemeterie, Operation Homefront, Blue Star Widow, Operation Santa Clau, Air Force ROTC orientation flight, Nevada Department of Emergency Management Search and Recue Board, Reno Air Race, Aviation Nation, Humboldt County Search and Recue collaboration, Angel Flight Wet and more.
