1 Clubs Kitty Hawk Air Society Kitty Hawk Air Society is an honor society within AFJROTC that focuses on academics and personal achievement. We revolve around promoting excellence in and out of the classroom as well as community service. KHAS holds study sessions where members help cadets complete homework and prepare for tests. We also organize service opportunities such as volunteering at the Ronald McDonald house and creating care packages for soldiers. When wearing the Kitty Hawk badge and cord, you are an example and role model to your peers. Being a part of KHAS means that you value education and want to see growth inside your program.

2 Cyberpatriot Cyberpatriot is a club that emphasis in the learning and bonding of a team over a experience through cyberspace.we will be starting in the beginning of the year to teach people the basic ways to emphasise running through competitions and will slowly begin to move toward learning how to code as time progresses.this year for Cyberpatriot i want to have a biweekly meeting and more events outside of school to bond this club into something more and grow into a formidable team.the official Cyberpatriot description is National Youth Cyber Education Program.We will require everyone who joins to assist in helping in competitions and it is a requirement to obtain the cyberpatriot ribbon. The only requirement to join cyberpatriot is to show up at the meeting with a open mind and having a willingness to move forward with the team to move into further rounds of competition. 3 Flight Programs FLIPS The Timber Creek AFJROTC Flight Programs (also known as FLIPS ), previously known as the Timber Creek AFJROTC Flight Operations (also know as FLOPS ), is the club in which a cadet can receive the AFJROTC Model Rocketry Badge. The reason that a cadet can receive the Model Rocketry Badge is because the requirement once a cadet enter the club is to build and customize an Estes Alpha model rocket and launch it successfully three times with also a successful return per launch. Once a cadet has done this task the cadet is eligible for the AFJROTC Model Rocketry Badge, after this task is done FLIPS has many things to offer a cadet. For example, a cadet can have the opportunity to fly professional Remote Controlled model planes, also, after the cadet s three launches the cadet can modify his/her Alpha as well as build bigger and better model rockets. A cadet can also learn different about aerospace, aircraft, aeronautics, as well as what it is like to have a career in those fields. These are just a few things a cadet can do in FLIPS, there is many opportunities to do all different kinds of aerospace related activities in this program and there are many more to come!

4 APT OverView APT is a club run by outstanding cadets who are motivating in making a difference for other students, and speaking out about different issues. APT stands for Awareness Presentation Team. The Awareness Presentation team is a group of AFJROTC cadets who educate elementary and middle school students about social issues such as drugs, staying in school, nutrition, etc. When you join this club you will get an opportunity to earn a badge that you can wear on your uniform, meet new people, and widen your social skills. Our involvement in developing awareness in providing training on social issue brings our Corps favorable publicity and is a valuable service to the community by informing students of a variety of ages about certain things.

5 ORIENTEERING Orienteering is a club that teaches many life skills to pursuing cadets. These skills are those that you may need to know only once in your life but that one time could save a life. You are taught wilderness survival skills, land navigation, and basic medical skills you may need to know in the field. There are two teams associated with Orienteering and both can earn you the orienteering ribbon. The first is the competition team. This team is made up of a team leader, three team members, and two alternates. This team, led by the team leader, competes in local and state orienteering competitions to win titles for the unit. The team leader can be anyone from the wing commander, to the club president, and even the average cadet. The other team is the newly established Search and Rescue team (SAR). This team is an experimental team and the first of its kind in the wing. We are currently looking for those cadets in good physical shape, good with a map and compass, has medical experience, and is able to transport other members to and from search areas. If you think you have what it takes, Tryouts and interviews will be held early in the school year and will be getting to work immediately on PT and classroom meetings. If interested grab an application for SAR out of the Orienteering box, fill it out, and turn it into the same box. Members of SAR will be chosen from those in the club and those on the comp team as well so join up with us. 6 Academic Bowl Organized and maintained by the Cadets and Instructors in our AFJROTC program, Academic Bowl offers cadets of the JROTC programs across the country to participate and compete with one another by testing the Cadets on their knowledge by using SAT/ACT-type questions in the areas of JROTC curriculum, English, math and science. One of the main goals of the JROTC program is to prepare students for state graduation exams as well as college entrance exams, such as SAT and ACT. This club offers members the chance to compete in three competitions and in the final round held in Washington DC! Other benefits include: an increased chance of interest by college admissions and scholarship service, preparation for state exit/graduation exams as well as college entrance exams, such as the SAT and ACT, representing our JROTC program s academic strength, improve SAT and ACT scores, and boosting esprit de corps. Members of Academic Bowl will be trained using practice tests to apprehend questions based on the JROTC curriculum, SAT/ACT, and current events focusing on national and international news, particularly international relations, politics, business and science. Members will be selected based on their GPA, Performance on the Practice Test, and overall enthusiasm for the competition.
