3 ACQUISITION STRATEGY OBJECTIVES Intent is to simplify current contract actions across S3I Minimize duplication of repetitive scope Distinguish: Service from Product (Federal Procurement Data System-Next Generation) Research & Development Service from Advisory & Assistance Service CONSIDERATIONS Maximize use of existing contract value near term Application of contracting Best Practices (i.e., Category Management/ Sourcing) When possible, use Order Level Materials in AMCOM EXPRESS Use of the Defense Procurement and Acquisition Policy Product and Service Code (PSC) Tool for determining NAICS/PSC alignment Market Research will be conducted for each contract to validate that multiple qualified sources exist 3
