Further phases are now under discussion with Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Samoa, Palau and the Federated States of Micronesia stakeholders and development partners. Antoine Geron, Polyconseil Satellite Plans Will discuss geosynchronous satellite, coverage, capabilities and service solutions that facilitate and support telecommunications development in the Pacific Ocean Region, including the new Intelsat 18 and 19 satellite launch, service transition plan, and the inclined orbit capacity for the Pacific Islands. 3 MEO Satellite Backhaul Solutions and Capacity for Pacific & Mobile Networks While 2G mobile networks have brought voice based telecommunications to the masses, 3G has now raised mobile data to the next level with the mobile data traffic expected to continue increasing exponentially. This presentation will go through the business case for adding MEO satellite technology to the mobile backhaul infrastructure for the Pacific region plus give you a deeper understanding of the mix: cost/benefit analysis and TCO.
