Alumni Legacy Scholarship 1,3 (ACNT 695) Amount: $1,000 each / Recipient(s): Four / Deadline: Feb. 8, 2016 The SUNY Oswego Alumni Legacy Scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate a commitment to the excellence of SUNY Oswego and the community through academic achievements, leadership and involvement in campus clubs and organizations. To be considered, students must: a. Be currently enrolled as a full-time student (12 credit hours minimum) b. Maintain a minimum 3.00 cumulative SUNY Oswego GPA c. Be a child, step-child or parent of a SUNY Oswego alumnus/a. Please list the name and relation to alum. d. Apply during their freshman, sophomore or junior year (completed 0 86 credits, including transfer credits, by deadline) to receive the scholarship during their sophomore, junior or senior year e. Atkinson Award 1,3 (ACNT 6641) Amount: $1,600 / Recipient: One / Deadline: February 8, 2016 This award is named in honor of Barry W. Atkinson (d.1985), assistant dean of students from at Oswego. This award is intended to assist those students who can demonstrate that they have overcome or dealt with unusually challenging circumstances in their effort to pursue their education. To qualify for this award, a student must: a. Maintain a 2.50 or better cumulative SUNY Oswego GPA b. Have completed at least one year of degree study at SUNY Oswego c. Be currently enrolled for a minimum of 6 credit hours of coursework, and maintain at least that level of enrollment during the award year d. Submit documentation (essay) which explains the challenge(s) he/she has dealt with in pursuit of his/her higher education e. Submit two reference statements to support application NOTE: Previous winners are not eligible to re-apply.

2 Benjamin 42 and Bevra Pease Muirhead 46 Presidential Scholarship 1,3 (ACNT 6351) Amount: $750 / Recipient: One / Deadline: February 8, 2016 This award was created by Bevra Pease Muirhead 46 (d.2006), widow of the late Benjamin Muirhead 42 (d.1998), to commemorate their lifelong commitment to learning and academic excellence. This scholarship is intended to provide funding for a Presidential Scholar returning to SUNY Oswego for his/her sophomore, junior, or senior year. Students from Western New York will be given first preference. To qualify for this award a student must: a. Be a Presidential Scholar currently in his/her freshman, sophomore or junior year (completed 0 86 credits, including transfer credits, by deadline) during the spring semester, who intends to continue undergraduate study at Oswego the following academic year b. Meet the academic qualifications for the Presidential Scholarship award c. Apply online at alumni.oswego.edu/scholarships Beta Tau Epsilon Scholarship 1,3 (ACNT 6514) Amount: $2,000 / Recipient: One / Deadline: February 8, 2016 This scholarship was established by the alumni brothers of the Beta Tau Epsilon fraternity to highlight the positive impact Greek Life can have on a student s experience at SUNY Oswego as well as the positive influence Greek Life can have on the college itself. The scholarship recognizes a student on campus who has shown great service and is a member of a Greek organization. To qualify for this award, a student must: a. Be a member of a recognized Greek organization on campus b. Be in good standing with both the college and Greek life c. Have financial need d. Have shown service within the college and/or Greek life and submit a 250-word essay describing service within the College and/or Greek Life. Charles Edward Wisotsky Educational Memorial Fund 1,3 (ACNT 6602) Amount: $1,050 / Recipient: One / Deadline: February 8, 2016 Established in loving memory of Charles Edward Wisotsky, who was born May 15, 1942, and who died February 23, He was a very special person who, because of a fatal car accident that robbed him of his youth, never had the opportunity to achieve his lifelong dream of finishing college. This award ensures that his dream will be fulfilled year after year. The scholarship will be open to a student who will be completing his/her senior year in the upcoming academic year, and is in need of financial assistance in order to continue his/her education. The student should fulfill the following requirements: a. Be enrolled as a full-time junior (completed credits, including transfer credits, by deadline) at SUNY Oswego b. Be making satisfactory academic progress and be in good academic standing with a minimum 2.50 cumulative SUNY Oswego GPA at the time of their selection c. Apply for state and federal financial aid and demonstrate unmet financial need. Unsubsidized loans will be excluded from the aid package in determining unmet need

Dolan Memorial Scholarship 1,3, ⁶ (ACNT 6447) Amount: $5,000 each / Recipient(s): Four / Deadline: Feb. 8, 2016 This scholarship was established by Dan 84 and Judith Dolan in memory of their son, Charles. The scholarship also honors Dan s parents; Mary A. Dolan and, retired New York City Police officer, Edward G. Dolan. The scholarship will assist students who have a financial need. To qualify for this award, a student must: a. Apply in their freshman, sophomore or junior year (completed 0 86 credits, including transfer credits, by deadline), for an award to be received during the subsequent academic year b. Have a 2.50 SUNY Oswego GPA c. Demonstrate financial need d. Provide a separate statement, in addition to your application,about your relationship with a police officer or firefighter and your financial need A strong preference will be given to a child or grandchild of a currentor retired police officer or firefighter, or a student who is a police officer or firefighter. This scholarship is renewable if the student meets the above criteria. Charles Turner Graduate Award 1,2,3 (ACNT 1136) Amount: $1250 / Recipient: One / Deadline: February 8, 2016 This award, sponsored by the Oswego Alumni Association, is named in honor of Dr. Charles Turner (d.1984), a dedicated administrator and educational leader at Oswego. Dr. Turner was a long-time administrator of teacher education at Oswego and acting president of the university from 1963 to This scholarship will recognize an outstanding senior who will pursue advanced studies following graduation. To qualify for this award, a student must: a. Maintain a 3.50 or better cumulative SUNY Oswego GPA b. Be a graduating senior at the conclusion of the upcoming spring or fall semesters, or summer session c. Submit an essay discussing personal and career goals d. Plan to enroll in graduate school at SUNY Oswego for the upcoming academic year Class of 1937 Scholarship 1,3 (ACNT 694) Amount: $1,250 each / Recipient: Two / Deadline: Feb. 8, 2016 This award, sponsored by The Oswego Alumni Association, is named in honor of the class that will forever be remembered for the generous gift they presented to this institution at their 50th college reunion. Survivors of world recession and world wars, the Class of 1937 never lost sight of their desire to make life a little better for those who followed. 4 Amount: $450 total / Recipient: TBD Contact: Office of Sustainability The Class of 2009 Eco-Fund will support students' innovative green initiatives and environmental projects on campus. Such projects may include initiating the campus's use of renewable resources such as solar and wind power, improving the campus's recycling efforts, funding conferences on sustainability for students to attend and supporting student research. To qualify for this award a student must submit a 300-word (minimum) letter of application with the following information included: name, contact information, class status (freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, grad), description of project or program, and proposed use of funds for the project/program, potential results/impact. letter of application to sustainability@oswego.edu. David A. Ingram, Esq. Memorial Scholarship 1,3 (ACNT 1352) Amount: $500 / Recipient: One / Deadline: February 8, 2016 This scholarship was established by Roger Manning in memory of the lifelong work, mentoring and dedication of attorney David A. Ingram, Esq., a strong advocate of legal education. This scholarship has been established to encourage advanced legal education in the field of social justice/public interest law, including disability, public welfare, health care, environmental or Federal Indian law. To qualify for this award, a student must: a. Be enrolled as a full-time, junior year student (completed credits, including transfer credits, by deadline) in good academic standing b. Demonstrate academic abilities, personal experience, and career goals to continue his/her legal education in social justice/public interest law, possibly as a viable candidate for law school admission or related graduate level legal education. c. Complete a single page essay demonstrating your interest in and commitment to social justice and/or public interest law. Edward Austin Sheldon Scholars Awards 1,2,3 (ACNT 698) Amount: $1,000 each / Recipient(s): Minimum of four / Deadline: Feb. 8, 2016 Dr. Edward Austin Sheldon founded the Oswego Normal School in He was a firm believer in the importance of education and its impact on character development. These awards, sponsored by the Oswego Alumni Association, Inc., are named to honor the founder of the college. To qualify for these awards, a student must: a. Be a sophomore or junior (completed credits, including transfer credits, by deadline) during the spring semester b. Maintain a cumulative SUNY Oswego GPA of 3.50 or better c. Submit in addition to the personal statement required on the application a well-organized 350-word essay responding from the perspective of a current student and future alumnus/a of this institution to the following statement: Describe the Oswego campus today to Dr. Edward Austin Sheldon. 5 Emeriti Association of SUNY Oswego Scholarship 1,3 (ACNT 6413) Amount: $2,700 / Recipient: One / Deadline: February 8, 2016 The Emeriti Association of SUNY Oswego established this scholarship to provide a student who is a child, grandchild, great-grandchild, or other direct descendent of a SUNY Oswego Emeritus (retired professor), a current faculty member, or a current or retired professional staff member. To qualify for this award a student must: a. Be a matriculated undergraduate student at SUNY Oswego b. Be a child, grandchild, great-grandchild or other direct descendent of a SUNY Oswego Emeritus (retired professor), current faculty member, or a current or retired professional staff member. Please reference in the personal statement your family member s name, relation to you and if he or she is a current or retired faculty or staff member. c. Demonstrate financial need George Dummitt 69 ResidentAssistant Fund 1, ⁴,5 (ACNT 7370) Amount: $2,400 / Recipient: One Contact: Residence Life and Housing Office This fund was established by the generosity of George Dummitt 69 to assist a resident assistant with financial need. To qualify for the resident assistant award, a student must be a full-time resident assistant in good standing with the Office of Residence Life and Housing and have demonstrated financial need. Students cannot apply for this award. Nomination and selection of recipient will be made by the Residence Life and Housing Office. H. Lois and Paul Goodwin Memorial Scholarship 1,2,3 (ACNT 6682) Amount: $3,050 / Recipient: One / Deadline: February 8, 2016 Named to honor the memory of Paul Goodwin (d.1988), Professor Emeritus of political science and his wife H. Lois Goodwin 54 (d.2001). This award recognizes a student s enthusiasm for learning, dedication to the free exchange of ideas and breadth of understanding. Evidence of interest in the cultural arts including music, theater and the visual arts will strengthen one s candidacy. To qualify for this award, a student must: a. Have completed 60 hours, including transfer credits, toward graduation at SUNY Oswego b. Maintain a 3.00 or better cumulative SUNY Oswego GPA c. Submit an essay evaluating some aspect of American government, politics, society or culture

6 Harold E. Morse 61 Family Scholarship 1,3 (ACNT 6403) Amount: $1,500 / Recipient: One / Deadline: February 8, 2016 This scholarship was established by Harold E. Morse 61 to provide economic relief to a deserving student who has financial challenges that compromise his/her experiencing a full student and academic life. Selection will be made by Dr. Morse or a designated family member, one representative from Student Affairs, and one representative from the faculty. To qualify for this award, a student must: a. Have completed at least one year of study (completed credits, including transfer credits, by deadline) at SUNY Oswego. b. Hold a minimum cumulative SUNY Oswego GPA of 1.67 (C-) c. Demonstrate potential for leadership and economic need. Hubert B. Smith Diversity Scholarship 1,4 (ACNT 6517) Amount: $4,400 total / Recipient(s): TBA /Deadline: Feb. 8, 2016 Contact: Howard Gordon, 708 Culkin Hall This award honors Hubert B. Smith, retired Assistant Provost and Director of the Office of Learning Support, for many years of service in the promotion of human diversity and academic excellence at SUNY Oswego. The Smith Scholarship was created in 1996 by a campus-wide initiative formed to promote diversity on the SUNY Oswego campus. This award is dedicated to providing financial support to bright and talented students and encouraging them to focus on both academics and participation in the college experience. Financial need may be taken into consideration; however, scholarships will be based on the academic performance of individuals who fulfill the following requirements. Qualified applicants will: a. Be nominated for the award by a faculty or staff member b. Have earned a minimum of 27 credits at Oswego (sophomore or junior standing). Transfer students must have completed two semesters of study at Oswego c. Have a cumulative SUNY Oswego GPA of 3.00 d. Demonstrate good character and integrity e. Have a documented history of service to SUNY Oswego or the Oswego community f. As the Oswego Alumni Association is a client of imodules, SUNY Oswego students are eligible to apply for the imodules scholarship program. To qualify for this award, a student must: a. Be a full-time student for the Fall 2016 semester b. Have a minimum "C" grade point average c. Go to scholarships.imodules.com to complete an online application and essay James E. Perdue Memorial Scholarship 1,3,⁶ (ACNT 6625) Amount: $3,550 / Recipient: One / Deadline: February 8, 2016 This scholarship was established in memory of Dr. James E. Perdue (d.1998) to honor his unending commitment to the availability of a quality broad-based liberal arts education. The award is intended to inspire, encourage, and stimulate intellectual growth via the pursuit of a liberal arts education. Qualified applicants will: a. Be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in SUNY Oswego s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences or a music, theatre or art major. b. Have a minimum SUNY Oswego GPA of 3.25 c. Submit a 300 word or less essay on the value of a broad-based liberal arts education. NOTE: This scholarship may be renewed, pending academic performance as stated above. James V. Tesoriero Charitable Fund Scholarship 1,3 (ACNT 1348) Amount: $2,000 / Recipient: TBD / Deadline: February 8, 2016 Contact: Office of Alumni Relations (315) James V. Tesoriero was the son of an immigrant muck farmer who started J & K Boiler Company repairing the coal ships along the shores of Lake Ontario. He grew his company into the mechanical contracting firm J & K Boiler Co. Inc. that helped construct the modern footprint of SUNY Oswego. Mr. Tesoriero was a strong believer in giving back to the community that he served. This scholarship has been established in memory of James V. Tesoriero. To qualify for this award, students must: a. Be a graduate of a high school in Oswego County b. Be a freshman, sophomore, or junior student (having total credits earned, including both SUNY Oswego and any transfer credits) c. Have a minimum SUNY Oswego GPA of 2.50 d. Be a declared major in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences or in the School of Communication, Media and the Arts e. Have financial need

Grant Student Peer Health Educator Memorial Award⁴,⁵ (ACNT 6508) Amount: $1,000 / Recipient: One / Deadline: February 8, 2016 Contact: The Lifestyles Center (315) This award was established by the Grant Living Trust for an outstanding student peer educator at SUNY Oswego. The award is in memory of Jean Grant who served as the Director of Health Services in Mary Walker Health Center and who firmly believed that student peer educators play a critical role in helping members of the student body make healthy choices. To qualify for this award, a student must: a. Be a full-time student in good standing formally enrolled as astudent peer educator. b. Exceed expectations as a student peer educator and demonstrate many professional and personal qualities such as leadership, commitment, self-direction, passion, positivity, enthusiasm, empathy, good humor, service and dedication. c. Jeffrey 92 and Ginger Bray Sorensen 93 Scholarship 1,3,⁶ (ACNT 6477) Amount: $1,000 / Recipient: One / Deadline: February 8, 2016 Contact: Office of Alumni Relations (315) This scholarship was established by Jeffrey 92 and Ginger Bray Sorensen 93 who thoroughly enjoyed their Oswego experience that provided them a host of lifelong friendships and memorable experiences on campus and in town, and the foundation to thrive professionally. This scholarship was established to provide support for future generations of deserving students, particularly those students from disadvantaged backgrounds who did not have a lot of opportunity, with a goal of educating students who will contribute back to society. To qualify for this award, a student must: a. Be a full-time student in good standing b. Have demonstrated financial need c. Have a minimum 2.75 SUNY Oswego GPA d. Be a freshman at time of application (having completed credits, including transfer credits) e. Submit an essay (minimum 250 words) indicating how receiving this scholarship will relieve financial strain or financial burden that either the student or family might be experiencing. f. Preference is given to a student who attended an urban and or disadvantaged high school Jennifer LaPoint Knighton 09 Delta Phi Epsilon Memorial Scholarship 1,3 (ACNT 6461) Amount: $450 / Recipient: One / Deadline: February 8, 2016 Contact: Office of Alumni Relations (315) The sisters of Delta Phi Epsilon and her father, Joseph LaPoint, established this scholarship to honor the memory of Jennifer Ellen LaPoint Knighton 09, who passed away in an alcoholrelated accident on July 19, Jennifer s legacy at SUNY Oswego will continue as deserving students benefit financially and have a better opportunity to achieve their full potential and live their dreams while learning about and spreading the message of moderation. To qualify for this award, a student must: a. Be an active member in good standing in Greek life. b. Apply in his or her freshman, sophomore or junior year (completed 0-86 credits, including transfer credits, by deadline) to receive the award in his or her sophomore, junior or senior year.

9 c. Have and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or better. d. Submit a one-page paper detailing how an alcohol-related situation or lack of moderation has an impact on students lives. e. Submit a written letter of reference. f. If chosen, recipient must assist in the scholarship s annual fundraising event Deepher Dude with the sisters of Delta Phi Epsilon sorority. John 66 and Sally Sodemann Sroka 66 Scholarship 1,2,3, ⁶ (ACNT 6499) Amount: $1,000 / Recipient: One / Deadline: February 8, 2016 This scholarship was established by John 66 and Sally Sodemann Sroka 66, who met during their time as undergraduate students at SUNY Oswego. SUNY Oswego brought John and Sally into a host of life-long friendships and memorable experiences as well as provided them with the foundation to thrive professionally, as teachers. The scholarship will assist students who have a strong financial need. A student s financial hardship is the major criteria in the selection process. To qualify for this award a student must: a. Be currently enrolled as a full-time student (12+ credit hours) b. Maintain a minimum 3.00 cumulative SUNY Oswego GPA c. Be a freshman, sophomore or junior (completed 0 86 credits, including transfer credits, by deadline) d. Provide a separate statement, in addition to your application, about your interests, career goals, and financial need e. This scholarship is renewable if the student continues to meet the above criteria NOTE: This scholarship is open for students of all majors to apply, however, a preference will be given to students who wish to enter the realm of education, specifically teaching within grades K thru 12. Johnson Hall Scholarship 1,⁴ (ACNT 1351) Amount: up to $500 / Recipient: TBD / Deadline: April 30, 2016 Contact: Johnson Hall Residence Hall Director This scholarship was established by the resident students and staff of Johnson Hall. The award recognizes students currently living in Johnson Hall that have demonstrated outstanding service, academic excellence, active involvement and leadership in the First Year Residential Program. To qualify for this award, a student must: a. Be a current first-year resident in Johnson Hall having resided there during both the Fall and Spring semesters. b. Be an active member of Johnson Hall, of SUNY Oswego, and of the greater Oswego community. c. Successfully completed the GST 100: College Orientation & Success course both Fall and Spring semesters as well as successfully completed 10 hours of community service each semester. d. Be returning as a resident student to SUNY Oswego for the following Fall semester. e. Have a cumulative minimum GPA of f. 10 KeyBank Scholarship 1,3 (ACNT 1355) Amount: $1,000 each / Recipient: Five / Deadline: Feb. 8, 2016 KeyBank, in recognizing that an educated workforce plays an integral role in the success and vibrancy of a community and that the opportunity at SUNY Oswego enhances not only the lives of those attending but adds to the vitality of the Central New York Region as a whole, sponsors an annual scholarship for current SUNY Oswego students. To qualify for this award, a student must: a. Be a permanent resident of New York State b. Have a minimum GPA of 2.50 c. Be in good standing with the college d. Demonstrate a history of community involvement e. Not be a member of a household of an employee, director or officer of KeyCorp or any of its affiliates for five years prior to application. Marilyn Burkell Roth '63 and John Robert Roth '64 Second Chance Scholarship 1,3,⁶ (ACNT 6523) Amount: $1,500 / Recipient: One / Deadline: February 8, 2016 This scholarship was established by Marilyn Burkell Roth 63 and John Robert Roth 64 to assist a student who is making a life change to better him/herself. To qualify for this award, a student must: a. Apply during freshman, sophomore or junior year (having completed 0-86 credits, including transfer credits). Seniors and graduate students may also apply for the award, if planning to attend SUNY Oswego the following year. b. Submit an essay highlighting desire to earn a Second Chance. Applicants need to demonstrate a sincere desire to effect a major change in the direction and goals for his/her life. Second Chance applicants may have experienced a habitually poor lifestyle or have suffered an unfortunate setback in attitude and/r lifestyle. A poor lifestyle may have been self-inflicted or the result of some outside event(s). c. Submit at least one (1) recommendation/reference from a recent teacher, employer, counselor and/or military commissioned officer who would support your application for a Second Chance.

11 Olive Brannan Spargo 31 Endowed Leadership Fund 1,2,3 (ACNT 6360) Amount: $850 / Recipient: One / Deadline: February 8, 2016 This scholarship has been established by Olive Brannan Spargo 31 (d.2004) in recognition of and appreciation for SUNY Oswego and its dedicated and caring faculty. This scholarship is intended to inspire, encourage, and stimulate active participation in the life of the college. Demonstrated leadership and citizenship comprise the major criteria in the selection process for this award. Qualified applicants will: a. Be enrolled or accepted for full-time enrollment at SUNY Oswego b. Have a minimum cumulative SUNY Oswego GPA of 3.00 at time of application c. Submit documentation of leadership and citizenship involvement, including a statement responding to the question, How will the Oswego campus community benefit from your leadership? d. Submit two written references documenting leadership and citizenship achievements Oswego Catholic High School Class of 65 Scholarship 1,3 (ACNT 1363) Amount: $1,000 / Recipient: One / Deadline: February 8, 2016 This fund was established by members of the Oswego Catholic High School Class of 1965 in celebration of their 50th class reunion. The class recognizes the important role of education and wishes to support an Oswego County resident with unmet financial need. To qualify for this award, a student must: a. Be a resident of Oswego County. b. Have unmet financial need. c. Have a minimum 2.75 SUNY Oswego GPA. d. Preference will be given to a student who has a family member who attended Oswego Catholic High School.

12 Pathfinder Bank Opportunities Scholarship 1,3, ⁶ (ACNT 6528) Amount: $1,000 / Recipient: One / Deadline: February 8, 2016 As the oldest financial institution in Oswego County, New York, Pathfinder Bank continues to maintain its original ideals and commitments to customer service and community involvement. Among the important elements of Pathfinder s mission is a desire to have a lasting impact on the communities it serves. Pathfinder knows that sustaining growth in a community and region can be achieved through a well-educated and diverse workforce. This scholarship was created in recognition of the impact of SUNY Oswego s enduring commitment to educational opportunity, in particular the institution s continuing efforts to advance students with the greatest financial need by providing educational opportunities to all students who meet admissions criteria and have a desire to attend college. To qualify for this award, a student must: a. Apply during Freshman, Sophomore or Junior year at SUNY Oswego (having completed credits, including transfer credits) b. Maintain a SUNY Oswego GPA of 2.8 c. Have financial hardship and submit a statement detailing financial situation d.
