3 What s new? The year in numbers During the year 2015/2016 we were 64 full members, 2 associate members; 6 mutual members

4 A dynamic Secretariat Dr Eulalia Espín Alba Senior Project Manager for the HousErasmus+ project, from January to August She was in charge of the Desk Research of the project, as well as carrying out a special survey for IROs and study visits to Universities. Morgan Francis Drew Traineeship at the Secretariat from February to May. He support the actualization of some database and translation tasks.

5 International Prize Grupo Compostela-Xunta de Galicia Aim: To award annually to one person or institution that has stood out due to his work in favour of the diffusion of international projects or ideas, dealing specially with the promotion of the European common ideal, the education and the preservation of our cultural heritage. Awarded institution in 2016: CIRCOM Regional

7 STELLA for Staff A Mobility Programme for Administrative Staff, to enhance cross cultural experiences & work placements, amongst CGU members. Coordinator: Eva Garea (University of Vigo) Year 2015/2016: A total of 28 intercontinental mobilities granted

9 STELLA Junior Student work Placements Mobility Programme for Students working within CGU s Universities. An exceptional opportunity for those students granted by European mobility programmes. 2015/2016: Economic support for travel expenses for 6 students 11 international mobilities in placements offered in /2017 call: October Endorse the programme!

10 COIL activities Aim: To encourage lecturers to start a Collaborative Online International Learning project inside any subject course in collaboration with other lecturers from another CGU member university. 2016: COIL developed between University of Monterrey and Universitat Rovira i Virgili; 2 lecturers and 60 students involved, from the fields of Law and Intercultural Competences. 2016/2017: 5 international COILs to be developed in the fields of Social Sciences and Biotechnology. 4 Universities involved: University of Monterrey, University of Santiago de Compostela, University of the Basque Country and University of Cádiz. 2016/2017: New call to be launched in November

11 6 th Joint Workshop on Student s Employability Annual one-day events designed to meet their member institutions' needs for latest and up-to-date information, good practices, and networking & cooperation opportunities; organized by SGroup, UNICA, and Compostela Group since workshop focused on Rethinking Competence Development for Students Employability: Practical Solutions for Europe. The CGU provided a University case study through the University of Cantabria s experience E2: estudiante x emprendedor student and entrepreneur entrepreneurship training programme

12 Projects HousErasmus+ ( ) CGU role: To carry out the initial Desk Research; a survey addressed to IROs; organization of two study visits and a Regional Conference Aims of the project: To study how the housing obstacles tackled for the Erasmus+ programme, and to streamline policy recommendations from insights get through research and study visits, surveys and conferences RUMI project ( ) CGU role: Leader of the Quality Committee; dissemination activities Aims of the project: To create a network of Moroccan universities for inclusive education.

13 Projects CALOHEE ( ) CGU role: Partner of the Advisory board on track and on sustainability activities. Aims of the project: To develop the infrastructure for setting-up multidimensional tests for each of five subjects areas, representing five significant academic domains. Erasmus without paper CGU role: Partner on dissemination activities Aims of the project: To interlink the software systems and to create ways for them to interact with each other

14 International Video Contest Aim: To award the talent and creativity of the CGU students, as well as to promote the use of communication technology and tools. Coordinator: Inmaculada Fortanet 2016 Winner: The Art Gallery, made by a students team from the Universitat Jaume I 2016/2017 guidelines New! To award the winner video with a economic contribution of 1,000

16 New innitiative: CGU International School 1 st CGU International School Ways of Saint James, European Identity and Universal Dimension: Towards a Plural and Convergent Cultural Identity Aim: To carry out academic activities in the frame of an interdisciplinary and international academic event, aimed at students and teaching staff Organized by the University of Regensburg (Germany) Proposed dates: 4-9 September or September, 2017
