1 Scholarship and Corporate Partner Program Launched in 2005, the Scholarship and Corporate Partners Program enables the Canadian Engineering Memorial Foundation to work with Canadian corporations to recruit more female students to a career in engineering. The Foundation s Scholarship Partners lend their valuable support and resources to create named scholarships administered by the Foundation at the undergraduate, master s or PhD level of study. Corporate Partners select their level of financial support from the Bronze, Silver and Gold, helping more Canadian women pursue their dream of becoming a professional engineer. All Foundation scholarships are awarded annually and are based on leadership, extracurricular activity and the ability of the applicant to act as a role model and ambassador for the profession. Each of our over 100 winners during the past 20 years have been remarkable advocates, each in their own unique way. All give at least one presentation on engineering to a younger audience to encourage and foster an excitement about a career in engineering. We celebrate each and every scholarship winner and continue to act as a support and networking system for years afterwards many of our winners from over the past two decades are still in contact with the Foundation, and have encouraged their friends and family to apply for a scholarship. In 2010, the daughter of a former winner applied and won a scholarship a first for the Foundation. Branding and Recognition: Each Partner is provided with custom designed promotional pages on the Foundation website the number of pages is reflective of the level of support. The website, is fully bilingual, attracts over 600 unique visitors a month and is one of the Foundation s main social media hubs. Every May, the Foundation holds its Annual Awards Luncheon hosted at Engineers Canada s AGM in a different Canadian city each year. Partners are recognized and promoted at the Awards Luncheon with logos on large display boards and featured on the Faces of the Future

2 booklet that contains mini biographies and photos of that year s scholarship winners. Scholarship Partners are invited to attend and present the framed scholarship certificate to their scholarship winners and have photos taken. The Luncheon is followed by the Engineers Canada fun night, where Scholarship Partner representatives have an opportunity to mix and mingle with the year s winners. Scholarship and Corporate Partners are also promoted in press releases, posters and brochures distributed annually throughout the year, and during the Foundations annual fall fundraising campaign. Each year a newly designed Scholarship and Corporate Partner Sheet is created for distribution in all mail outs to further promote and recognized those corporations. With an active FaceBook presence and Twitter account, the Foundation s scholarship recipients stay in touch, sharing information, ideas and resources. Each Partner is announced through these outlets and have their logos posted on the FaceBook page, serving as a reminder to each scholarship winner that business supports women in engineering. Reaching Your Target Audience: Reaching top engineering graduates by Canadian companies for recruitment is of paramount importance in today s competitive market. The Canadian Engineering Memorial Foundation can help. Seventeen engineering faculties at top universities in Canada have partnered with the Foundation each with a strong presence on the Foundation website and actively participants in the Fall Scholarship Promotional Campaign to encourage students to apply for a Foundation scholarship. Posters, handouts, and information packages are disseminated at all Canadian universities with engineering faculties. Foundation scholarships are even included in the positive ranking of university engineering programs by Mclean s Magazine. Aligning your corporation with the Foundation lets universities and students know that your business supports the future of engineering and equality in the profession. Scholarship and Corporate Partners are also provided the opportunity to self promote through the Foundation website, which attracts hundreds of students, parents and teachers a month looking for information on engineering in Canada and on the scholarship program. The Foundation s professional staff will write and design each Partner s page including links back to the corporate or business website. Each Partner is also invited to follow the Foundation on Twitter and join the FaceBook page (invite only), serving as another recruitment tool.

3 Establishing A Partnership: Interested Scholarship and Corporate Partners are invited to contact the Foundation directly and a teleconference or meeting can be arranged with the president and /or member of the board of directors at your convenience. Questions can be directed to the executive director at Alternatively, simply fill out the enclosed Partner and Corporate Sheet and submit to the Foundation for review and follow up. A charitable tax receipt will be issued for all donations. For Scholarship Partners: as the Foundation provides scholarships, not bursaries, financial need is not a consideration, nor is academic grade point. With your input, the Foundation will write and establish the criteria for each named scholarship, will promote and market the scholarship and oversee branding. All scholarships are bilingual and translation is overseen by the Foundation. Scholarship Partners will be invited to have a representative(s) on our judging panels, which are made up of respected professional engineers from across Canada. All administration and marketing of scholarships is overseen by the Foundation.

Les partenaires de bourses d études de la Fondation, tels Vale Inco et AMEC, apportent leur formidable soutien et leurs nombreuses ressources à la création de bourses d études en leur nom et gérées par la Fondation.
