MSN Office Nursing 110 Phone: Office hours: as posted DAY(s)/TIME/LOCATION: Assigned Mondays and Thursdays 11:00 to 1 pm CREDITS: 1 Quarter Unit; Credit/No Credit (10 hours) COURSE DESCRIPTION: Focuses on assisting beginning nursing students with test taking and math skills in health care settings. Includes instruction and practice in using math for medication administration and appropriate word use for reporting and recording nursing assessments. Scenarios will be used to provide assessment data and to illustrate how variations in client characteristics such as culture and age may influence medication administration and nursing assessment. PREREQUISITES: None COREQUISITES: Concurrent enrollment in N242 COURSE OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of N240, the student will: 1. Demonstrate skill in math calculations for medication administration by passing a math test at the 90% level. 2. Demonstrate beginning care plan skills by formulating NANDA Diagnoses. 3. Verbalize an assessment from data on a scenario/case study provided by the instructor.

Evaluation of Students: Medication test with passing grade of 90%. Participation in class and development of care plan components Presentation of head to toe physical assessments 3.
