In addition, there is the Common Career Technical Core available at The is currently developing some resources to help teachers address specific standards. Free crosswalk documents are also available that relate the Common Career Technical Core to titles in practical nursing, agricultural education, and early care and education. Simply go to and click on Resources, then click on Downloads. E-books Available from Kno.com The has partnered with Kno, Inc., to make e-book editions of products available. Currently, all of the new full-color agricultural education titles are available in e-book form at Kno.com. We are also adding several of the full-color practical nursing titles. Kno, Inc., is a full-service e-book distributor and recently announced its partnership with several major publishers to distribute their e-books as well. Simply go to the website at and enter in the search window! New PN Test Item Bank CD The now has a test item bank CD for several titles in the Practical Nursing Series! The CD is item HO8002 and includes over 1800 multiplechoice test items, with answers, in MS Word format. The titles covered, and the number of test items for each, are: Nursing Concepts (449 items); Pharmacology and Intravenous Therapy Skills (494 items); Fundamentals of Nursing (702 items); and Maternal Newborn Nursing (201 items). Next Edition of Best of the Web to be Developed Claire Zevnik-Cline in is gathering websites and apps to profile in the upcoming eighth edition of s popular Best of the Web booklet. This is similar to the paper order form in our print catalogs, but is a PDF file that allows you to enter text such as your curriculum titles to be ordered and your address information. The file will even calculate your purchase total based on the prices and quantities you enter! Another benefit of this fillable-pdf order form is that you can Save As and file a copy of your order on your computer, rather than keep track of a paper photocopy. We appreciate their contribution of time and 45 If some of the titles you have ordered were on backorder, thank you for placing that order! Over the past 4-5 years, has begun making a transition toward full-color teacher and student editions, based on customer input. These full-color products have different printing requirements and time requirements than our traditional, black-and-white products had. We invested in a printing press specifically to allow us to produce these new products. As a result, many of our most popular titles are now available in full color. Our new challenge is to better pace the print jobs so that new titles and reprints do not compete with one another more than necessary. This is a growing pain for, even as we celebrate our 45th year. 5 PROJECTS & PEOPLE Laurie Richison has finished the PN Series test item CD, as well as the Med-Surg 1 curriculum. Her next two PN titles will be Pediatric Nursing and Mental Health. Laurie is also outlining a new HOSA Learn, Grow, Become title and is preparing to upload the PN Series files to Kno.com for conversion to their ebook platform. lrich@okcareertech.org Jamie Church has completed the latest revision to the Animal Science curriculum and is now focusing on producing a new Environmental Science and Natural Resources title. She is also working to revise the content and format of the Agricultural Safety book. Jamie is also working with Kurt Murray to create a new poster series as well as a set of SmartBoard activities. On her to-do list is a redesign of the Equine Management curriculum ahead of its next reprint. jchur@okcareertech.org Connie Romans completed the new Personal Financial Literacy curriculum and is now working on a new family and consumer sciences curriculum for 6-7 grades. She is also updating the Career Orientation curriculum ahead of its next reprint, and is working with Amy Haney to produce a new edition of the Geometry title in the s Math Series. croma@okcareertech.org Tracy Boyington completed the revision to s Adult and Family Living curriculum, now titled Surviving and Thriving. She also worked with Connie to outline the new 6-7 grade family and consumer sciences title, and is now starting on a new Customer Service title. She is also editing and designing the draft of a new MAT title produced by DHS. 8 RECIPE FILE 1 box yellow cake mix 2/3 cup margarine 1 beaten egg 3 cups miniature marshmallows 2/3 cup white syrup 1/2 cup margarine 1 tsp. vanilla 12 oz. pkg. peanut butter chips 1 1/2 cup salted peanuts Salted Nut Roll Bars Mix yellow cake mix, margarine, and beaten egg well should be stiff. Pat in 9x13-inch pan. Bake at 325 F for 15 minutes. Sprinkle 3 cups of miniature marshmallows over the crust. Bake until marshmallows are puffed. Cool. Melt together the white syrup, margarine, vanilla and peanut butter chips. Pour over the marshmallows. Press the salted peanuts on top.
