2 Funded by TAACCCTIV ACTforHealthcare Grant Key Grant Deliverables: 1. Develop a statewide pathway for veteran medics to earn a credential in nursing, building on the larger element of prior learning assessment 2

3 Key Grant Deliverables 2. Collaborate with the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) to develop a statewide career pathway for military medic to transition to a LPN/RN career pathway 3

4 Key Grant Deliverables 3. Develop a CPL program allowing students to move rapidly through LPN/RN curriculum while remaining engaged and challenged in learning. 4

The pathway must include prior learning assessments to gauge current knowledge, skills, and abilities, and determine placement in the pathway for each veteran enrolled in the program. 5. Develop bridge programs that are based on individual assessments of each veteran and geared toward helping them acquire the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to practice as a nurse. 5

15 PLA Development Course Challenge Exams are available for the 5 Theory Courses in Pathway Challenge Exam Information for Student and Instructor is developed into a WIDS PAT with each course. Actual tests are embargoed on SkillsCommons and have been shared with nursing deans, project team and WTCS office. Article about this PLA development available on WIDS.org Clinical Practicum course must be taken in person by veteran student at the college in which they are accepted for 2 nd year of ADN program. 15
