This workshop is a must for service providers working in Education, Child Protection, Children s Services Child Care, Youth Services, Disability Services, Domestic Violence Services, Accommodation Services, Crime Prevention and Indigenous Services. This two day comprehensive training workshop has been designed to teach the content of the internationally acclaimed Protective Behaviours Child Safety Program. As a safety program, Protective Behaviours provides children with strategies to keep themselves safe and cope with situations that threaten their well being such as bullying, child abuse and domestic violence. The program empowers the individual with the right to feel safe and sets out ways in which they can gain the appropriate help when they are not feeling safe. To secure your place in this workshop please complete and return the attached registration form. For further information on the Program or this workshop please Lorren Stainton (lorren@womenscouncil.com.au) or call (08) The Women s Council for Domestic & Family Violence Services (WA) is offering subsidies to all financial members (Organisational & Associate members).

2 Protective Behaviours is based on two simple themes: 1. We all have a right to feel safe all the time 2. There is nothing so awful we cannot talk with someone about it. Don t miss out on this opportunity to learn Protective Behaviours! All registration forms are due back to Lorren as soon as possible. Places are limited. Protective Behaviours is exciting, empowering and addresses all forms of abuse, both physical and psychological. It says there are practical, physical and psychological steps which can create safety and personal support for people. Protective Behaviours shows how an individual can empower her or himself even in the midst of a hostile or dangerous environment. Exposed to the various components of this program, young people learn the skills to identify their vulnerabilities, whilst devising strategies to both protect themselves and get help if unable to cope alone VICKI FRASER, INSPECTOR, VICTORIA POLICE, MELBOURNE. Protective Behaviours is based on two simple themes: 1) we all have a right to feel safe all the time and 2) there is nothing so awful we cannot talk with someone about it. These themes are not so much taught as internalised, and, in this, the program differs from others. It is not a step-by-step teaching guide, but rather a conceptual framework for empowering the individual. Registration Form 19th & 20th November Protective Behaviours level 1 training usually costs $350. The Women s Council is offering a heavily reduced rate to financial members.
