3 Scenario: You are an engineering apprentice working for a local company who has completed the first year in the position and been asked to demonstrate your knowledge to the new employees that have just started. You have been asked to describe the links between Health and Safety legislation and different areas within the workplace. Task 1 (P1) Explain the key features of four pieces of legislation/regulations as applied to two areas, using two pieces of legislation for each workplace. a) Apply this to an Engineering Toolroom and state what the legislation/regulation, applies to and why. b) Apply this to an office environment and state what the legislation/regulations applies and why. Task 2 (P2) Describe the roles & responsibilities of all involved in the current health & Safety legislation & regulations, starting with you, the college structure and the roles of external agencies involved in health & safety. Task 3 (M1) Research an incident that may have happened in an engineering workplace where you consider that health and safety legislation/regulations have been breached. Briefly describe the incident and discuss what happened to those people involved and managers who may have been proved culpable for the incident.
