This role will include making a significant contribution - occasionally taking the lead - in developing our e-learning package, as well as providing administrative and project support to others in the HR

The apprentice should have a good, broad level of skill knowledge in IT and of the web, but above all, a keen interest in developing the look and feel of electronic training, working in partnership with the e-learning provider 'Learning Pool', colleagues in HR and others in the Council. The apprentice will need to develop expertise in developing e-learning tools and the confidence to advise others at all levels in how to translate information into accessible engaging online learning packages. The apprentice will also be required to monitor activity and produce reports. The team in the Training Dept are very friendly and supportive and will guide and train the apprentice until they are confident to run with the project. Specific duties include: Provide Admin support to the HR and Training team Contact organisations, training providers and others to ask for information Review, rewrite and draft e-learning packages from scratch, using an e-learning authoring tool work with 'Learning Pool' to make the best use of the e-learning tools available Help to administer and update the online course booking system Occasionally represent the Learning and Development team at internal meetings Work as a member of HR project team when needed Set up spreadsheets to monitor information and records Use Powerpoint to prepare and produce presentations. Find, manipulate and create suitable images/games/activities for use in e-learning as well as accessing useful and engaging video clips etc from the internet.
