6 Go-Live Physician Communication: First, physicians will receive a daily brief from the Dr. Kenien ed to the account we have on file. Additionally, physicians can drop in to the Physician Support Center in L100C(hospital campus) May 1-May 15. Third, the dedicated physician hot line is 44(8-5000); please save this number to your phone. Another path is Twitter. 13 Remote Access: Beginning May 1 st Physicians will access the patient record using the Physician Connection. A link is available on the header of the sjhsyr.org home page. Hyperspace can be accessed using your RSA token. If you do not have an RSA key fob, a pass code can be generated on demand and sent to your cell phone. (There is a request process involved in On Demand.) View Only EpicCare Link will also be accessible through this page. Instructions for installation of Citrix, a program which is necessary to access SJLinked, is available at the bottom of the Physician Connection page.

15 Remote Access for Offices Your office should have received instructions for Epic Care Link access. Instructions were also mailed to offices earlier this week.

16 Medical Staff Breakfast Please make sure that you check out your login credentials one final time before Go Live. This will help assure that you can access your patients records tomorrow.

17 Hot Topics: The Paper Chart Q: Once we are live on SJLinked, what happens to the patient chart? A: SJLinked creates a fully integrated patient record. Information for the record comes from many sources including non-electronic. Paper consents forms, the MOLST form, floor copies of EKGs, and outside records are kept in a patient s paper record until they are scanned and added to the electronic record under the media tab.

18 Hot Topics: Direct admissions Q: How will direct admissions be handled? A: Call the admitting office. A CSN number and encountered can be created in about 10 minutes. You can then start documenting in Epic/SJLinked.

19 Hot Topics: Verbal Orders Q: What about verbal and telephone orders? A: Verbal orders can still be given when it is not practical for you to place an order. If you just don t know how to place it in Epic, a SuperUser can assist you in placing it. Nurses are trained to take telephone orders. You will need to cosign both types of these orders in your in basket.

20 Hot Topics The Discharge Navigator and Discharge Process Q: I ve heard that you can t start to complete the discharge paperwork before discharge. Is this true? A: No, the discharge medication reconciliation and much of the discharge paperwork can be done by you or an affiliate before the actual discharge order is placed.

21 Hot Topics The Discharge Navigator and Discharge Process Q: How does a patient receive information on discharge about medications and follow up appointments? A: Completing the Discharge Navigator will populate the After Visit Summary (AVS).New discharge medications will be e-scribed by default. Narcotics prescritions will need to be printed.

22 Hot Topics The Face Sheet Q: How do I print a Face Sheet? A: You don t have to. Ask a secretary to print it for you. Or you can find the face sheet report in the snapshot view and print it yourself.

25 Patient Portal Lab results will be released to patients in 96 hours directly through My St. Joseph s. Anatomic pathology results will be held prior to release, probably 14 days. Out Patient radiology results will not be released at this time. In Patient radiology results will be released at the same time as labs.

26 Canto/Haiku Haiku is Epic s mobile application for the iphone or Droid. Canto is the mobile app for the ipad. These apps give you secure and portable access to the SJLinked EMR and keep you connected to your patients 24/7. A test group of physicians will have these apps available May 1, with a gradual general release to follow.
