2 What is the Personal Medication Record? DrFirst s Personal Medication Record (PMR) is a self-service, app-based portal for patients where they can view recently sent prescriptions, reconcile their active medications, and store healthcare-related images and information. Any changes to the medications will be reviewed by the provider before updating in DrFirst and ICANotes. As long as there is a valid mobile phone number in the patient record, DrFirst will send a text message to the patient at the time the prescriber signs off and sends the prescription. Your patients are invited to contact DrFirst through the application (preferred) but can also contact DrFirst by phone at (866) if needed. Please Note: This feature will not affect your ability to send prescriptions within Rcopia. Within DrFirst The Prescription Management section features a check box, Send Copy to Patient at. This is where providers can enter the mobile phone number for the patient if it is not already displayed. PMR User Guide Version

3 You will see the error message below if you enter a phone number that cannot be validated as mobile. How to Use PMR 1. DrFirst will trigger an automated message to the patient, once a prescription has been sent. In this text message, the patient will receive a link to their Personal Medication Record. The patient can reply STOP to unsubscribe from such text messages 2. Once the patient follows the link, they will be required to verify their First Name and Date of Birth, and then press Verify and Continue to proceed. PMR User Guide Version

4 3. Upon verifying name and date of birth, the patient will receive a new text message with a temporary security code. The patient will be asked to enter that code to access their Personal Medication Record. PMR User Guide Version

5 4. The first time the patient logs into their Personal Medication Record, they will see a Welcome message. They can tap Get Started to proceed. 5. Within the Personal Medication Record, patients can view any active medications and confirm which medications they are taking. They can also add in other medications or vitamins/supplements. a. Patients can confirm an active medication by toggling between yes/no within the Active Medications section. b. They can also add a new medication, search for the medication, select the strength, and choose Add. The provider will be able to review these changes and accept or deny them. PMR User Guide Version

6 6. Patients can view Recent Prescriptions sent by the provider. They will have access to the pharmacy phone number and can get directions to the pharmacy instantly by selecting Map. Additionally, patients can view any available coupons for the medication by selecting Coupon. 7. To the right of the medication, patients can see estimated cash pricing information for the pharmacy to which their medication was prescribed. Tapping on the price will display a listing of other pharmacies in the area and their respective cash prices. PMR User Guide Version

7 8. The Portal Connect feature allows a patient to access any local health system s patient portal. PMR will ask the patient to use their location and display any applicable health system portals. 9. Within the Health Folder, the patient can securely store images of healthcare-related documents such as insurance cards or lab reports. In order to access the Health Folder, the patient must upgrade their record by confirming their . This will also grant the patient permanent access to their Personal Medication Record. 8 10. For security reasons, the Personal Medication Record is only accessible for 30 days after a prescription is written. Patients have the ability to upgrade their record by entering their address. An will be sent to the patient allowing them to create a password which they can use to login to their Personal Medication Record at any time. 11.
