Students gain the knowledge about the ethio (patho) genetic mechanisms, clinics, diagnostics, principles of treatment and prophylaxis of the most common skin, venereal and infectious diseases. During the subject studies students gain practical skills needed for the examination of a patient, for making a reasonable diagnosis, treatment and prevention plan. Purpose of the course unit: programme competences to be developed The aim of the studies - to acquire integrated knowledge about skin, venereal and infectious diseases, to gain the necessary abilities for the diagnosis and management of those diseases. Evaluation of clinical symptoms, order investigations, making differential diagnoses and a management plan; 8. Treatment prescription; 10. Effective interaction in medicine practice. Students will be able to choose adequate drugs and/or prescribe other methods of treatment according to a given clinical situation; to analyze and evaluate the harms/benefits of applied treatments to patients with skin, venereal or infectious diseases.
