5 Role of the P 2 Board of Directors Set organizational direction, including acting as the keeper of the mission, implementing a powerful vision for the organization and ensuring that a strategic plan is developed, implemented and periodically reviewed. Establish policies and procedures on appropriate issues. Ensure sound fiscal management, including the approval of an annual balanced or surplus budget. Ensure that the organization operates in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations. 5

6 Role of the P 2 Board of Directors Work as a team and speak with one voice once decisions have been made. Represent and raise the profile of the organization in the community so that the organization is top-of-mind for facilitating positive change towards improving the health and well-being of the Western New York community. Develop and maintain an effective Board organization, committee structure, and periodic reviews of the effectiveness of the Board and its progress toward goals. Clearly define and evaluate annually the role and performance of the Executive Director. 6

17 P 2 Performance Measurement/Public Reporting Goal - To bridge the gap between the care people receive and the care our health system is capable of providing, P 2 is working to increase public awareness of the performance of health care providers. This is accomplished by measuring and reporting physicians' performance, cost of care delivery and patient experience to help consumers and patients make informed choices. 20 WNY Cancer Coalition (WNYCC) Mission - The WNYCC is an organization of collaborative agencies that brings awareness of cancer education, treatment and resource information to people living in the eight counties of Western New York. Vision - The WNYCC serves the people of WNY by acting as a liaison between individuals and organizations to provide cancer information and resources. Globally to act locally to improve access to care, eliminate disparities and improve the quality of life for those faced with the cancer experience. Share and promote evidence based and best practices in community and healthcare settings Support exploration of new ways to reduce the cancer burden through research. 21 WNY Health Equity Coalition (HEC) Mission - The HEC champions an urgent call to action for health equity through systems change across communities in WNY. Vision - The WNYHEC is an inclusive group that champions equal access to quality health and wellness for everyone in Western New York. It is a leading light that works to remove barriers and support public health initiatives focused on systems change.
