1 Paediatric First Aid Level 3 This qualification provides theoretical and practical training in emergency first aid techniques that are specific to infants aged under 1, and children aged from 1 year old to the onset of puberty. Learners undertaking this qualification will be able to provide support to the paediatric first aider to maintain the welfare of infants and children. Learners will become familiar with the role of the paediatric first aider and be able to assess and react appropriately to an emergency situation, such as a child or an infant who is unresponsive, has an airway obstruction, has breathing difficulties or is suffering from shock or anaphylaxis: This qualification consists of one mandatory unit and is typically delivered over a period of 1 day with a minimum contact time of 6 hours. All successful students will be issued with an Emergency Paediatric First Aid certificate. 2 First Aid at Work FAW This First Aid at Work FAW (3 Day Course) is ideal for those already working or preparing to work within industry wishing to become a qualified First Aider in the workplace for the purposes of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (NI) The recommended course duration is 3 days and the following topics covered including: the roles and responsibilities of the First Aider: assessing an incident, recognising signs and symptoms of injury and illness, assisting a casualty who is suffering from major injury and illness, chest injuries, spinal injuries and anaphylaxis. Understand the role of the first aider including reference to the use of available equipment and the need for recording incidents and actions. Understand the importance of basic hygiene in first-aid procedures. Assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency. Administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious and/or in seizure. Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded or bleeding and/or in shock. Administer first aid to a casualty who is choking. Provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries. Recognising the presence of major illness and applying general first aid principles in its management. Soft tissue injuries. Injuries to bones including suspected spinal injuries. Chest injuries. Burns and scalds. Eye injuries including how to irrigate an eye. Sudden poisoning and anaphylactic shock. Provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries. Assessment: Practical assessments and a multiple choice exam paper will need to be passed in order to gain this qualification Certification: A certificate which is valid for 3 years is awarded to all successful students

3 Emergency First Aid at Work EFAW This Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course is recommended for nominated emergency first aiders in workplaces with lower health and safety risks. It is ideal for smaller workplaces that present few health and safety risks where a nominated or appointed person is required to take charge in the event of an illness or accident. This course complies with current UK and European resuscitation guidelines. We guarantee compliance, quality and assurance that this course is fit for purpose and recognised by industry regulators. 4 First Aid at Work Refresher FAWR Our First Aid at Work Refresher (FAWR) updates the first aid skills for people who need to renew their statutory first aid at work certificate and whose existing certificate is still in date. Who should attend? This First Aid at Work Refresher course is for people wishing to renew a valid first aid at work certificate. Please note: If you allow your certificate to expire. You will then have 28 days after the expiry date to book onto this course or you will have to attend the First Aid at Work (3 day). 8 Safeguarding of Vulnerable Children This Safeguarding of Vulnerable Children training course is a mandatory for anyone who works with children. An ideal half day introduction to the basics of child protection. The course looks at what child abuse is and how to spot potential signs of abuse. The course raises awareness to delegates as to the long term harm caused to child victims and the need for us to be aware of signs and symptoms and when and how to take action. Who is this course for?
