3 General aim To promote occupational health and safety in Arctic working places by increasing the well-being at work (and its consequences) Supports strong collaboration between research institutes and companies in a sustainable manner 22nd BSN Hannu Rintamäki 3

4 Tentative goals Collect and disseminate general and industry specific information on the problems, needs and possibilities of work in the Arctic On the point of view of OHS. By using electronic newsletter based on the experiences with Barents Newsletter on OHS Develop Arctic work and hence well-being, motivation and productivity. Help to increase the lenght of the career. Support the sustainability of environment, work and workers. Launch joint research projects, education and development. Background for spin-offs. Activate, promote and synchronize multidisciplinary research and development internationally and between research organizations and companies. Facilitate the collaborative use of national research infrastructures. Support the training and mobility of OHS specialists in the Arctic. Develope the collective selection of services supporting work in harsh conditions Bring facts about Arctic work in publicity to raise the interest in it. 22nd BSN Hannu Rintamäki 4
