4 FDR TRAUMA AND DYSREGULATION FDR Trauma and Dysregulation Practiced based training. Presents strategies and skill clients need to remain regulated during difficult family mediation and family counselling sessions. FDR Trauma and dysregulation The program covers the identification of cases that could be held in ADR processes, and present variation to models of practice that reduce the likelihood that triggered dysregulated states occur. Skills are taught, and modelled throughout the program, with opportunity for practice embedded in the program. Day three focuses entirely on skill improvement, through the use of role play in both individual and joint session. 5 ADVANCED FAMILY DISPUTE RESOLUTION PROPERTY Advanced Family Dispute Resolution: Property Advanced FDR Property Settlements The resolution of property disputes is an area of family law of growing complexity. Family Mediators can be actively involved in the process, but sometimes it is useful to rethink approaches to the negotiation that are likely to assist parties to find agreement without the carnage of the traditional faciliative approaches. 6 CHILD CENTRED PRACTICE THE CHILD CENTRED CONTINUUM MODEL This training is presented as a collaboration of Dr Lorri Yasenik (Calgary Alberta) and Jon Graham (Sydney Australia). The training is offered when Lorri and Jon are in the same location in Australia or North America. In 2014 Dr Lorri Yasenik and Jon Graham began working together on models for the family law sector that increased the place of the child voice in all processes. This first level training introduces practitioners to a model of FDR where the child voice is central in ALL cases. The model introduces four levels of parent feedback according to two scales the Parent Readiness Scale (which assesses each parent s readiness to hear the voice of their child), and the Child and Youth Readiness Scale. In addition the training will introduce the Child and Youth Concerns Scale, which assists practitioners to collate the concerns of children under headings understandable to parents. It is designed to allow for reflection and realization, with the hope that personal and practice improvement would be the outcome. Supervision contracts are created for regular meetings, either face to face or online. Supervision goals are set by individuals to focus on particular areas of practice improvement.. Supervision is a powerful tool in the development of individuals and teams to integrate new ideas into models of practice. 11 CLINICAL CASE REVIEW CLINICAL CASE REVIEW Critical Incidents Complaints File Review Practice Improvement CLINICAL CASE REVIEW CCR is a one off process of review of a critical incident that occurs in the life of an organisation. It seeks to make sense of how an incident occurs and what needs to be undertaken to ensure that similar incidents are managed differently in the future. CASE REVIEW SUPPORT WHEN INCIDENTS OCCUR For FRCs, private FDRPs and others seeking independent review of clinical incidents complaints, or critical incidents. FORMAT: Face to Face GROUP SIZE: Organisation
12 REGISTERING TO JOIN A PROGRAM AS AN INDIVIDUAL INDIVIDUAL REGISTRATION Training programs are offered in small group intensives. The programs include theory and skills tuition and role play practice throughout each day. Small group sizes mean discussions and practice sessions maximize opportunities for individual and group needs to be met. Training programs offer skills assessment pathways and most programs offer assessment against National Competencies.
13 REGISTERING FOR ORGANISATIONAL AND GROUP TRAINING EVENTS GROUP TRAINING EVENTS Training events can be offered in locations across Australia for groups of various sizes. The training is offered on a daily rate with additional costs for group size, travel, accommodation and training resources. TRAINING CALENDAR FORMAT: GROUP SIZE: course AVAILABLE: Face to Face, with extensive resources 15 to 50 people depending on the Across Australia Training can be provided in combination of various programs. In doing this, the costs of travel and accommodation can be minimized. It is possible to tailor most training programs around specific needs of the group. An initial quotation for the training will be provided for approval by the organizing committee. The CHILD CENTRED PROGRAMS are available in September/October OR February/March each calendar year, when Lorri Yasenik is in Australia. This minimizes the overall costs of international travel.
14 ABOUT JON GRAHAM LLB BA (Psych) Grad Dip Family Dispute Resolution Jon Graham is a Registered Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (Family Mediator) based in Sydney, Australia. Jon has qualifications in law, psychology and commerce as well as post-graduate qualifications in Family Mediation. Jon combines over 20 years of clinical experience with families affected by separation and divorce with a substantial training calendar across Australia. Jon is the Clinical Director of the Institute of Specialist Dispute Resolution, a provider of tailored family dispute resolution processes for families presenting with complex issues. The Institute also provides training and clinical supervision for mediators in Australia. ABOUT LORRI YASENIK Ph.D., RSW, CPT-S, RPT-S (Canada) Lorri Yasenik is a Registered Family Mediator, past President of Alberta Family Mediation Society, Registered Parenting Coordinator-Arbitrator, Registered Clinical Social Worker, Registered Play Therapist and Child Specialist. Lorri provides child psychotherapy and play therapy and is the Co-Director of Rocky Mountain Play Therapy Institute. She delivers national and international training related to children s issues and specialized child and play therapies.
