4 Program Organizer The Program Organizer is responsible for organizing panelists, gathering program materials, meeting program planning deadlines, and generally serving as the liaison with the Conference Committee and ABA staff. First Name: Last Name: address: In addition to the above listed responsibilities, what will the program organizer's role be on the program? Organizer only - will not be presenting Moderator for the program Speaker for the program Provide a URL for the Program Organizer's bio or additional information. Please note that we will use this bio and photo for your speaker profile unless otherwise indicated. Is the Program Organizer a member of the ABA Section of Dispute Resolution? Is the Program Organizer known to be on another proposal? If yes, which other proposal(s)? Information about Proposed Presenters Make sure you are aware of the following four rules: Rule 1: "One Program per Presenter." Presenters can only present/moderate on one educational program at the spring conference. Please consult with your proposed presenters if they are listed as presenters on other conference proposals. If a presenter is listed on more than one accepted proposal, the conference committee will ask that presenter to choose one of the programs. In very rare circumstances, the Spring Conference Committee will allow exceptions to this rule. Exceptions to the one program per presenter rule are only granted if the presenter is absolutely essential for both programs and the the program organizer has made a concerted effort to identify and recruit other presenters but has bot been able to fill the role. We ask program organizers to look outside of their usual networks to identify new voices and presenters for their proposed programs. The Conference Committee is available to help you identify possible presenters. Rule 2: "One Presenter from an Organization." This means that you cannot have more than one speaker from the same organization speaking on the panel. This "One Presenter from an Organization" Rule is not applicable to Diamond Sponsors who are organizing a Sponsored Session. However, Diamond Sponsors will be held to the ABA and the Section's Diversity requirements when organizing the panel for the program. Rule 3: "Diversity of Presenters." Any program with three or more presenters (including a moderator) must have at least 1 diverse member. ABA Policy requires ABA CLE panel programs to have presenters that include members of diverse groups as defined by ABA Goal III (race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, and disability). Rule 4: Presenters Must Register. All conference speakers must register for the conference. It is the responsibility of the Program Organizer to ensure all their speakers are registered either as a speaker and an attendee for other conference programs and events (for which there is a registration fee) OR as speaker-only, which will limit the speaker to participate in only the one program for which they are a speaker. Please list below the names of your presenters who are committed or who will be invited if the program is accepted. You do not need to list yourself as the program organizer. If your program is accepted, you will be sent a form to indicate your final
5 presenters' information in greater detail. Presenter 1 Name Presenter 2 Name Presenter 3 Name Presenter 4 Name Presenter 5 Name Presenter 6 Name List here any additional information you would like to provide about your presenters. If your proposal is accepted, each presenter will be asked to provide additional information, including contact information, a photo, and a short biography. If you would like the Conference Committee to assist in identifying and/or recruiting presenters, please indicate that here. The ABA and the Section of Dispute Resolution promote diversity in all of our educational and networking programs. ABA Policy requires ABA CLE panel programs to have presenters that include members of diverse groups as defined by ABA Goal III (race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, and disability). Rule 3: "Diversity of Presenters." Any program with three or more presenters (including a moderator) must have at least 1 diverse member. This requirement as stated above applies also to Diamond Sponsors who are organizing a program. We encourage diversity in all of our programs, even those with fewer than three presenters. The ABA and the Section of Dispute Resolution have a number of resources to help you identify diverse presenters. For instance, The Section of Dispute Resolution has a Minorities in Dispute Resolution Directory and a Women in Dispute Resolution Directory. The ABA has a Diversity Portal with additional resources. Please indicate how your proposal meets the ABA and Section of Dispute Resolution diversity goals: Is there anything else the Conference Committee should know about your proposal? Stop. Read the information below before you click on the Next Button. SUBMIT THE PROPOSAL When you click on the Next button below, your program proposal will be submitted to ABA Section of Dispute Resolution Staff. You will see a report with a summary of the responses you have submitted. This report is your confirmation that your proposal has been submitted. We recommend you save a copy of the report (look for the "Download PDF" button at the top right). The report with a summary of the responses is your confirmation that the proposal has been received. ABA staff will also send you an confirmation of your proposal submission within 72 hours. You will not have an opportunity to edit your proposal once it is submitted. Please make sure your proposal is complete and accurate before clicking the arrow below. You can submit questions about the proposal to Melissa Buckley at melissa.buckley@americanbar.org. Accepted programs will have an opportunity to make small revisions to their programs once accepted.
