2 Learning Objectives 1. Describe the history of NAMSS, strategic initiatives and impact on the industry. 2. Identify elements of the NAMSS Leadership and Volunteer Pathways to better support the profession. 3. History of NAMSS NAMSS firsts: formed in California in 1971 national conference held in 1977 certification process initiated in 1978 History of NAMSS (cont.) Growth of NAMSS Membership grew from initially under 60 members to over 6,000 members in 2017 Membership demographics have changed from primarily traditional hospital credentialing/privileging members to a strong presence of managed care members. Increasing presence of international members New affiliation with the American Health Care Lawyers Association (AHLA) has also enriched and diversified our membership. 2

9 Facts about the FSMB IMLCC Sole purpose of the Compact is to provide an additional, expedited, pathway to licensure for physicians with exemplary practice histories. Participation in the Compact for medical licensure is voluntary for both physicians and state boards of medicine licensure.
