1 Labor Market Services CalJOBS has a variety of labor market information available for job seekers, employers and staff including Q&A, area profiles, industry profiles, and occupational profiles. CalJOBS largely uses its own database of active candidates and job data as well as job data from public job boards it spiders from. CalJOBS is a large and powerful database for candidate information because it not only includes WIOA client but the majority of unemployment recipients. Labor Market Facts This feature in CalJOBS is for job seekers who have questions about local labor market information. It presents as a Q&A but in actuality is showing the same information found through the Area, Industry, and Occupational profiles. 2 Using the left hand navigation hover over Labor Market Services and Click Labor Market Facts. 3 Select the topic bar that most closely associates to your labor market question to expand and display the questions associated to that topic. Each question is a link that will navigate to the answer in CalJOBS. Example: To view questions about occupational information for your local area click the

2 Occupational Information for Your Local Area ribbon. Then to find the lowest paying jobs in your area, click What is the lowest paying jobs in an area? 4 Click the back button on your browser to get back to the Labor Market Facts section. Repeat step 3 and 4 until all Labor Market questions are answered. If you need additional assistance, please see a resource navigator or the computer lab tech. Labor Market Profiles Area Profile This feature is for job seekers, employers, or staffs who want to know more about the labor market in a specified area. This allows individuals to select an area and then explore available jobs, supply and demand, employer data, and industry information about the area.

3 2 Using the left hand navigation, under the Services for Individuals header, hover over Labor Market Services and Click Area Profile. 3 Select the area the profile is being request for and cick Continue 4 Review the Area Summary information to help make informed labor market decisions. Industry Profile This feature is for job seekers, employers, and staff who want to find details about a specific industry within a selected area. This feature shows advertised job skills, industry description, locally available jobs in that industry and more.

4 2 Using the left hand navigation, under the Services for Individuals header, hover over Labor Market Services and Click Industry Profile. 3 Search and select the industry a profile is being request for 4 Review the Industry Summary information to help make informed labor market decisions. Occupational Profile This feature is for job seekers, employer, and staff who want to find details about a specific industry within a selected area. This feature shows advertised job skills, an occupation description, locally available jobs in that industry and more.

5 2 Using the left hand navigation, under the Services for Individuals header, hover over Labor Market Services and Click Occupational Profile. 3 Search for an occupation by keyword, group, listing, education program, military speciality, occupational code or by license. Click Search when search criteria has been entered. 4 Select the desired occupation if a list is presented (this will happen in general searches such as the Keyword search) 5 Review the Industry Summary information to help make informed labor market decisions.
