Made many recommendations to improve the transparency of payment systems in residential construction. Who will be CFO of the Year in 2007? The 6th CFO of the Year selection will honour the financial policy implemented by an organisation as represented by the CFO. In the category for listed companies, several CFO's have been nominated by Rematch and CFO Magazine on the basis of their first-rate financial reputation, communication and the share attractiveness. The CFO's winning in the listed company categories will be determined by Rematch s thorough investigation of the questions: (1) are the financial processes in order? and (2) how is the market evaluating the performances? In the unlisted company category, research will be conducted by The Hackett Group. Pierre Malmartel, CFO Sigmakalon Sigmakalon was created in 1999 from the merger of the paint groups belonging to Petrofina and Total. After occupying various management positions, Malmartel has been CFO at the group level since Christo Kalter, CFO Oad Group CFO of the Year for unlisted companies in In an age of boom, growth is not really anything special. But growth in spite of countervailing conditions, that is just plain difficult. Boudewijn Beerkens, CFO Wolters Kluwer Beerkens did not let things get to him. He worked steadily on the return to profitability of the printing group. Last year, it became clear that he was right all along, as demonstrated by an earnings increase of 19 percent. Joop de Rooij, CFO SHV Whoever complains about private equity is clearly forgetting that SHV, one of the largest companies in the Netherlands, is a privateequity company. De Rooij is faced with the task of continuing to build the company.

7 Robert-Jan van de Kraats, CFO Randstad and CFO of the Year in 2006 First sew and then harvest: Robert-Jan van de Kraats is a master at this. He ensured that Randstad got through the meagre years without affecting the company s resilience. Stefan van Kessel, CFO Mars/ Masterfoods Nederland Talent management is one of his important tasks. "Strongly committed employees are crucial and working as a team is extremely important, says Van Kessel, who manages forty financial employees. Edwin van Leeuwen, CFO Unit 4 Agresso At Unit 4 Agresso, growth mainly comes from takeovers. It seems easy for Unit 4 Agresso to rely on such activity. Thanks to a few unequivocal principles, notes CFO Edwin van Leeuwen. Ronald van der Mark, CFO Maxeda Few people are as enthusiastic about private equity as Van der Mark. To his mind, it would be better if Euronext was ended. Since Vendex-KBB has left the stock exchange, things are going better than ever with the company. Marina Wyatt, CFO TomTom At the beginning of the nineties, Wyatt was group finance director at British electronics company Psion. After a short stay at Colt Telecom, she was asked by Goddijn to become CFO and help with TomTom's IPO. Jack de Kreij, CFO Vopak Along with Boudewijn Beerkens at Wolters Kluwer, Jack de Kreij is the only CFO attending the day who previously earned his spurs as a merger and takeover consultant. This provides an outstanding basis for a CFO. René Hooft Graafland, CFO Heineken In his colleagues' eyes, the CFO of the Year for 2003 is regarded as open, honest, conservative and realistic. He is also especially loyal: he has worked more than 25 years for Heineken, and not just in financial positions. Willem Vermeend As one of the most renowned specialists in the social economic and financial tax areas, Vermeend has been attending the CFO Day for years. He is one of the guarantors for the quality of the CFO of the Year selection process. Francis Shammo, Senior Vice President and CFO Verizon Business Responsible for financial processes and for various programmes that increase the profitability and the efficiency of the company. He is also the man who prepared the company for SOX. Johan van Manen, CFO DHV Group Things are going especially well at DHV; there is only one problem: a shortage of qualified personnel. The performance of work in Central Europe, India and China will have a role to play in this. Tjero Zomer, CFO transavia.com Tjero Zomer came, saw and conquered last year at the presentation of the CPM Award. Under his leadership, Performance Management has grown within transavia. com into a cornerstone of the day-to-day operations. Alex Oostvogel, CFO ViaFocus Alex Oostvogel made his name as the CFO at Endemol and is now working at ViaFocus. He is responsible for strategy and management consultancy in the financial sector. A role that fits him like a glove. Doede Vierstra, CFO Nuon The liberalising energy market demands structural measures. And that is why Viersta merged the company with its industry counterpart Essent to form Nusent. Viersta s role in the merger was substantial.
