Amazon announced the selection of San Marcos for the location of a new Fulfillment Center in August months later, the doors opened on one of their most technologically advanced centers in their network 850,000 sq. ft.; $191 million investment; 1,000 jobs after 5 years. Have actually hired more than 3,000 permanent full-time positions w/ benefits. San Marcos facility was highlighted as one of four facilities in the world which shipped 1 million packages in one day over the holiday rush
