5 Policies for Class Participants ALOT Agricultural Leadership of Tomorrow Making a global impact... One Missourian at a time 1. Participation Attendance is required at all seminars. Your acceptance of the invitation to participate in ALOT is your pledge of total commitment to the two-year program. A tremendous effort is expended to provide you with this opportunity and there is no substitute for your lack of participation. The success of ALOT and your ALOT experience center on a 100% commitment by all those involved. Participants are expected to participate fully in each session. This participation includes mental alertness, completion of assignments, asking questions and participating in discussions as well as your physical presence. Any late arrivals, early departures, partial or total session absences must be cleared by the ALOT Director prior to that session. It is the responsibility of the class member to make the Director aware of any potential absence. If the Director deems that the absence is valid, then the absence will be excused. If an absence is not excused by the Director prior to the session, then the matter may be taken to the ALOT Foundation Board of Directors for consideration at their next scheduled board meeting. 2. Program Participation ALOT depends upon the contribution of time and resources from sponsors, speakers, and alumni. Without the efforts of these individuals, ALOT would not be able to provide the high quality programming that has come to be expected. While it shall be the specific responsibility of the officer of the day, all participants are expected to write to hosts, sponsors and speakers thanking them for their efforts. This correspondence is extremely important to the continued support and cooperation from those individuals. In addition, efforts are constantly under way to improve the ALOT program. The director will provide, and participants are expected to complete seminar evaluations at the close of each session. Participants are encouraged to share their ALOT experience with others in agriculture as well as media, schools, civic organizations, etc. 3. Dress Code The purpose of a dress code is to ensure that participants project a professional image. As participants you have been recognized as professionals and will be interacting with other professionals and leaders from across a broad spectrum. Business attire is required. The two categories are as follows: Business/Professional*- Dresses or suits for women and suits or sport coats and ties for men. Business/Casual Blouses, skirts or slacks for women and slacks with sport shirts for men. *Business /Professional is the standard dress requirement for all seminars unless Business/Casual is specified by the program director. Jeans, shorts, tennis shoes, etc. are not acceptable. 4. Application Fee There will be a $25 application fee to be made payable to Agricultural Leadership of Tomorrow Foundation and the payment is to be included with the application. For those applicants accepted into the ALOT program, the $25 fee will be deducted from their tuition. 5. Tuition Payment Policy Tuition for Class XVII will be $5,200 if paid in two installments; $5,000 if paid in a lump sum at the beginning of the Class. If paying in installments, the tuition will be billed in January of 2017 and January 2018 in the amount of $2,600. Payment for each half of the class must be received before the participant is allowed to attend sessions in that period. No participant may attend the International Study Trip until the final payment has been received. Non-payment of tuition in a timely manner is grounds for removal from the program. Upon approval of the Board of Directors, this policy may be amended for individuals suffering unusual circumstances. Participants must sign a copy of this policy (next page)

6 Please sign and return with your application. Acceptance of Policies ALOT Agricultural Leadership of Tomorrow Making a global impact... One Missourian at a time I, (applicant/participant s name), have read the above policies of the ALOT program and agree to abide by them. In particular, I have read the above policy regarding the payment of tuition and agree to make such payments in a timely manner as specified by the payment policy.
