Description: The National Park Service s (NPS) African American Civil Rights Grant Program (AACR) will document, interpret, and preserve the sites related to the African American struggle to gain equal rights as citizens in the 20 th Century. The NPS 2008 report, Civil Rights in America, A Framework for Identifying Significant Sites, will serve as the reference document in determining the appropriateness of proposal projects and properties. AACR Grants are funded by the Historic Preservation Fund (HPF), administered by the NPS, and will fund a broad range of preservation projects for historic sites including: architectural services, historic structure reports, preservation plans, and physical preservation to structures. Grants are awarded through a competitive process and do not require non-federal match. Arts Participation, in the new agenda, remains inclusive of various modes of participation and specific arts activities. Description: The Division of Materials Research (DMR), the Division of Mathematical Sciences (DMS), the Division of Electrical, communications and Cyber Systems (ECCS), and the Office of Advanced Cyberinfrastructure (OAC) seek to rapidly accelerate quantum materials design, synthesis, characterization, and translation of fundamental materials engineering and information research for quantum devices, systems, and networks. The new program Enabling Quantum Leap: Convergent Accelerated Discovery Foundries for Quantum Materials Science, Engineering and Information (Q- AMASE-i) aims to support these goals by establishing Foundries with mid-scale infrastructure for rapid phototyping and development of quantum materials and devices. The new materials, devices, tools and methods developed by Q-MASE-I will be shared with the science and engineering communities through Foundry-operated network. Technology transfer of Foundry activities will be enabled by close cooperation with industrial partners. Six- year awards totaling $20,000,000 to $25,000,000 for the award period are anticipated. Q-MASE-I Foundries will be awarded as cooperative agreements with an initial commitment of six years, with the possibility of one (1) six-year renewal, subsequent to a rigorous and favorable review by NSF. Funding after the second year will depend on the quality of progress and performance documented during the site visits. The ATE program supports curriculum development, professional development of college faculty and secondary school teachers, career pathways, and other activities. The program invites research proposals that advance the knowledge base related to technician education. It is expected that projects will be faculty driven and that courses and programs credit bearing, although materials may impact technician education. The ATE program encourages proposals from Minority Serving Institutions and other institutions that support the recruitment retention, and completion (certificate, degree, program) of students underrepresented in STEM in technician education programs that award associate degrees.
