2 Benchmark pioneering organization The Galician Enterprise-University Foundation (FEUGA) was established in 1982 in line with four principal premises: For the universities benefit Regulated by private Law. Non-profit. Commitment to the development of Galicia The founding partners are the University of Santiago, A Coruña and Vigo, and the most distinguished companies, institutions and entities of the autonomous community. This is the pioneering body in the field of promotion and innovation in Galicia, whose immense experience is a vital contribution towards its development. Although it is primarily focused on the Galician area, the contribution of FEUGA reaches all the corners of Spain through the Network of Enterprise-University Foundations and various state entities aimed at stimulating technological research and development. As for its administration, the foundation is governed by the Board and the Governing Body. The entity is presided by the chairman (with the assistance of a vice-chairman elected from among all the partners.the director-general chairs the executive team.
3 T h e b r i d g e b e t w e e n u n i v e r s i t y a n d e n t e r p r i s e FEUGA focuses on the promotion of collaboration between university and enterprise through the transfer of knowledge and technology. The specific goals of the foundation are as follows: Management of relations between enterprise and the Galician University System.. Flow of knowledge from university towards the society. Boost technological development of the companies. Increase the competitiveness of Galician productive fabric Improve HR training.
4 Public interest, private agility The key idea behind all FEUGA s activities lies in the management of initiatives of public interest with the agility of private enterprise. Its efficiency is also based upon the in-depth knowledge of the technological offer developed by the scientists. Thanks to close relationship with Galician enterprise, FEUGA perfectly knows the necessities of Galician industry that university may satisfy. The foundation is extremely versatile, able to operate in various branches of science and production. Size does not matter in FEUGA, SMEs and big companies are attended to in the same way.
5 Public interest, private agility The dexterity acquired in the relationship with leader companies allows the entity to transfer to SMEs good business practices which otherwise would be difficult to access. 6 To satisfy t he needs FEUGA is able to satisfy all the needs that the companies and universities may have, through a vast array of activities that range from the identification of the needs to their solution. Its high efficiency in contract management is well worth mentioning. The services offered are: Detection of technological needs. Search for research teams.. Transfer of technologies R+D+i contracts management. Grants and internship management Information on public financing of projects (R+D+i Point) Training programmes in R+D+i (Innovation Course) Technology based business nursery (CEDE - Entrepreneurship Development and Research Centre). Spaces available for business activities.
7 Innovation projects This is the driving force of FEUGA, aimed at promoting the culture of innovation among enterprise with the support of universities. Training Directors, company s technicians, researchers and students may update their qualifications and improve skills through a variety of training activities that make use of innovative tools Grants Four grant programs open the door to intenrships for thousands of students and graduates.
8 I nnovation Projects Proximity and experience make FEUGA the perfect agent in the transfer of knowledge and technology between university and enterprise. It has the resources and know-how necessary for establishing the best possible contract relations between the parties, as well as for surveying financing schemes. It has a wide array of tools at its disposal for fulfilling this promotional commitment. In one year, apart from the ordinary contracts made on the premises of the foundation, the FEUGA personnel carries over 450 promotional visits and studies of needs for companies, and the number of meetings with research teams exceeds 480. The task of establishing inter-relations is completed with technological reunions (forums of direct exchange of views between researchers and companies with technological potential, previously catalogued) seminars, technical conferences, fairs and other meetings. Its in-depth knowledge of the sector allows the foundation to provide companies with the universities offer ordered in technology catalogues, both general and specific.
9 I nnovation Projects The foundation acts as an Office for the Transfer of Research Results (OTRI). Due to this fact, it also forms an integral part of OTRI Network of the Ministry of Science and Innovation.
10 I nnovation Projects Wine Wine-growing Innovation Zone. The business partners are five Galician regulatory councils of DO. Its creation was supported by the Directorate General of R+D+i of the Galician Regional Government, with institutional and financial backing from Caixa Galicia. Among its achievements worth special mention are three cooperative and 18 individual entrepreneurship projects, identifying 74 scientific needs and almost 80 research teams. It has now spread to other regions of Spain, Portugal and France with the WINTech and Winetwork projects, financed by INTERREG.. Agrifood Proyecto Susmilk. The main idea of the collaboration project re- design of the dairy industry to develop sustainable milk ( SUSMILK ) is to analyze and optimize the entire process chain of milk and milk products with regard to energy and water consumption. Enviroment In 2008, with the financing from the Biodiversity Foundation and the Caixa Galicia Foundation, the area of activities was extended to include naval sector (ACLUNAGA - Cluster of the Galician Naval Sector), graphic arts (Galician Graphic Product and Book Cluster) and chemistry, under the name of ECOGALICIA VERDE PROJECT (Green Eco-Galicia Project). It gave rise to 3 sector projects and 9 eco-innovation projects in companies, after identifying 29 scientific needs and 99 research teams. In 2014 the CFIS - Ecopharma project began, financed by the CIP program Eco -Innovation, aims to develop a more efficient and safer for sampling sensor Persistent Organic Pollutants The project coordinator is Labaqua and are members Emalcsa, Fundación Ramón Domínguez, Ardtoe Marine Laboratory, Aqua Enviro and Cetaqua, Centro Tecnológico del Agua. FEUGA supports coordination and administrative and financial management of the project.
11 I nnovation Projects INTERREG VT Design, consolidating and improving technology transfer vehicles in the Euregion, with University of Santiago de Compostela (USC), Foundation for Promotion gives Calidade Industrial, Universidade Associação Undertaking or Desenvolvimento - TecMinho Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo. Its aim is to promote the transfer of scientific and technical knowledge between universities and society through the creation of new vehicles transfer and consolidation of existing proven successful ones. NANOVALOR In collaboration with the University of Minho, INL (International Nanotechnology Laboratory), Techminho (University of Porto), INESC Porto, University of Santiago de Compostela (USC) and AIMEN. Its aim is the creation of a Polo Competitiveness and Technology (PCT) in the area of sustainable Nanotechnology in Euroregion Galicia-North of Portugal.
12 I nnovation Projects UNION WITH CDTI: Sessions and R+D+i Point FEUGA maintains a strategic alliance with the Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (Centro para el Desarrollo Técnológico e Industrial CDTI), of the Ministry of Science and Innovation, aimed at facilitating the access to public aids destined to R+D+i. To this end it has general resources and two specific tools: Rondas CDTI-FEUGA CDTI-FEUGA sessions. The foundation organizes a series of meetings, during which the Galician companies may individually present their projects to CDTI technicians who come especially for that purpose. Punto PIDI R+D+i Point. The foundation is a local agent of the level 1 in the Network of Information Points about R+D+i Activities (PIDI), coordinated by CDTI, which plays a vital role in providing information on the public support for innovation.

Oficina de Proyectos de la Fundación Empresa-Universidad Gallega The FEUGA s Project Office offers its customers (private companies, universities, etc.) the support and knowledge needed in R + D to search for calls, project partners, application aid, monitoring and justification, all at regional, national and European level. We offer: 1. Strategic advice We seek and analyze different ways of financing: Innterconecta, Eurostars, CIP, FP7... Lobby in direct contact with the Administration: CDTI, European Commission, EACI... Advise and carry out the search for partners for collaborative projects. 2. Preparation and submission of proposals Prepare reports and budgets for funding request for R + D + i. 3. Justification Management and We monitor and project justification (justification reports, control audits, etc.).
14 I nnovation Projects Feuga s Project Office FEUGA s Positioning FEUGA Currently FEUGA is positioned in the following initiatives at European level: The European Water Platform (WssTP). EIP water by action group Finnowater. Transfer technlogy workgroup of Food for Life-Food Drink Europe. The Bio-based Industries Initiative (PPP-JTI). EFFRA (European Factories of the Future Research Association) NetWorld2020 (European Technology Platform for communications networks and services). AIOTI (Alliance for Internet of Things Innovation). CITyfiED Community of Interest (Replicable and Innovative Future Efficient Districts and cities). EIP smart cities by the workgroups Integrated Infrastructures and Urban Mobility.
15 Training FEUGA operates in the field of training in order to strengthen the links between university and enterprise, answering thus to the need of completing knowledge, what can be seen both among enterprise managers and research staff. In 2016 over 800 people took part in programmed activities. Company managers constitute the most numerous segment among the participants. The duration of courses, conferences and seminars, as well as the schedules and modules taught by teachers are designed to be compatible with regular labour activities of the attendants. While preparing the annual offer, apart from its own experience, the foundation takes into account the suggestions presented by university and enterprise communities. Four most relevant thematic areas taken into consideration in the training programme are: - R+D+i management. - Business management. - Executive skills. - Sectorial activities
16 G rants FEUGA is the door which thousands of Galician students and graduates pass through to access to internships. The value of this work is endorsed each year by high levels of satisfaction. In 2016, FEUGA distributed grants to university and FP students graduates.
17 G rants The foundation has structured its activities in the field of grants through distinct programmes: University graduates Training Grants Programme FP students Training Grants Programme Work Experience Programme FP graduates Training Grants Programme
18 G rants The Training Grants Programme (Programa de Becas de Formación PBF) is directed to new graduates from Galician universities who are received by the companies for various periods of time, according to each case, and with tutor s support. In 2016, graduates received grants.
19 G rants The Programa de Prácticas para Estudiantes (Work Experience Programme for Students) was designed for students who have completed at least half of the credits to arrange their first contact with labour market, so that they may complete the theoretical knowledge acquired so far. In 2016, FEUGA gave such an opportunity to 462 students.
20 G rants The FP Training Grants Programme (Programa de Becas de Formación Profesional PBFP) is directed to new graduates from FP Galician centers who are received by the companies for various periods of time, according to each case, and with tutor s support. In 2016, 790 graduates received grants. In 2016 FEUGA managed 183 FP DUAL grants.
21 CEDE: protecting the entrepreneurs In its headquarters in Santiago the foundation offers facilities to newborn companies within the framework of Centro de Experimentación y Desarrollo Empresarial (Entrepreneurship Development and Research Centre). CEDE is available to those who want to promote a company that makes use of a product or offers services related to the research activities or knowledge obtained at university. The Centre users are professors, students, new graduates and entrepreneurs. Apart from supporting the entrepreneurs, FEUGA offers them its facilities for carrying out various events and training sessions.
22 FEUGA i n figures The Galician Enterprise-University Foundation is a distinguished agent in the field of R+D+i as its activities since the establishment in 1982 until 2016 have amounted to contracts worth over 278 millions euros. Last year the contracting value exceed 16 millions euros, out of which over 2 million correspond to 156 R+D+i projects.
