2 The Challenge Research activities are not interoperable Publications do not reflect expertise Hard to find right expert Faculty members and scholars not aware about research happening within organization. Awareness about open source tools & commercial products are expensive

3 Solution: An Open Source Research Information Management System to aggregate, curate and utilise the research related information for research reporting and decision making. The INFLIBNET Centre developed an open source software called Indian Research Information Network System ; At present the product is available as software as service ; Soon, we are going to release as open source software; Future- IRINS would be available as subscription based service to the academic institutes.

9 Features and Functionalities Research progress of departments and faculty members; Solr based faceted search interface with number of filters to find the expert; Import publications from academic identities such as Microsoft Academic Search ID, Google Scholar ID, Researcher ID, Scopus ID; ORCID ID Integration for publication update; Co-author network and map of science; Metrics from social media and citation from Scopus.

11 Support to data sharing Data ingest to National Researcher s Network (VIDWAN), National and International Academic Associations Assisting Policy Maker and Funding Agencies by providing research related information, which includes NIRF, CSIR, DST, UGC, and MHRD; National level multiinstitutional search to facilitate expert finding and research assessment
