3 SciENCV Overview SciENCV = Science Experts Network Curriculum Vitae SciENCV interagency working group: DOD, DOE, EPA, NIH, NSF, USDA under the Research Business Models and Science of Science Policy Committees Long term: fits with STAR METRICS FDP Pilot

4 SciENCV Overview (Long Term) Voluntary researcher profile system o o Reduce administrative burden for researchers and agencies Enable discovery about expertise, employment, education, accomplishments Principles: o Any researcher may register o Leveraging data from existing systems o Data owned by the researcher o Researcher controls what data is public o Researcher edits and maintains information o Research provides own data to describe research outcomes

5 The FDP Pilot (Short Term) Generate biosketches in NIH-specific format for application submission o Initial sources: ORCID, era Commons, NCBI My Bibliography Profile populated with data from existing sources o Researcher claims/rejects items in the profile, identifies missing items o Populate application format o Populate progress report format o Researcher has ultimate control over data in biosketch
