4 Exam Prep Refresher Session Offered at Technical Conference The Minnesota Rural Water Association will be sponsoring an Exam Refresher Session on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, as part of the MRWA Technical Conference. The exam refresher session will give the attendee an opportunity to review information that will be part of the certification testing. Taste Test: March 5, 2013 MRWA is looking for the best tasting water in the state! The Minnesota Rural Water Association TASTE TEST competition will be held March 5, 2013, as part of the 29th Annual Water & Wastewater Technical Conference. We hope to have several entries from across the state. This is a good way to showcase the pride we have in the work that our utilities do. This will be great fun! Remember, if you are attending the Technical Conference...Please BRING A ONE QUART WATER SAMPLE from your system s water in a glass container if you wish to participate. Lyle Trautman Scholarship MRWA will be awarding two Lyle Trautman Scholarships at the 29th Annual Water & Wastewater Technical Conference on March 5, 2013, in St. Cloud. These scholarships of $ each will be made to a student to defray the cost of tuition, books, or room and board to an accredited institution of higher learning approved by MRWA. Scholarship money will be paid directly to the student upon presentation of the winner s college invoice as proof of enrollment. Decisions are final. No transfer of scholarship is permitted. Because active shooter situations are often over within minutes, before law enforcement arrives on the scene, individuals must be prepared both mentally and physically to deal with an active shooter situation. CUPSS is a free, easy-to-use, asset management tool for small drinking water and wastewater utilities. CUPSS provides a simple, comprehensive approach to help you develop a record of your assets, a schedule of required tasks, an understanding of your financial situation, and a tailored asset management plan. CUPSS software has four main goals: 1. Assist with communication between system staff and decision makers; 2. Help move systems from crisis management to informed decision making; 3. Facilitate more efficient and focused utility operations; and 4. Improve financial management to make the best use of limited resources. The software is structured through a series of modules to collect information on a utility s assets, operation and management activities, and financial status for setting up an asset management plan.
