2 2 You re Invited to San Diego We are proud to announce that the California Chapter of the FBI National Academy Associates will host its annual training conference at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay in San Diego, California from August 30 - September 1, The theme for our 2017 Conference is We Can be Heroes. This is an opportunity to motivate Law Enforcement leaders. Providing inspiring real-life accounts focused on effective leadership, in an increasingly dangerous year in which law enforcement came under attack, with overall law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty up 6%, and those killed by firearms attacks up 59%. The presenters for this Conference are experts in their field, bringing a national reputation for effective and uplifting presentations. The conference will explore multiple approaches to motivation, and will include talks on How to keep the Super-Heroes Super, and a debriefing from first hand law enforcement heroes that handled the December 2015 terrorist attacks in San Bernardino. Your generous support of this conference will assist in keeping law enforcement throughout California motivated to do the job that the citizens ask of them every day. Unlike previous symposiums that you may have attended in the past, the FBINAA California Chapter s conferences have traditionally provided unique opportunities to network and share ideas amongst exhibitors and our Associates who are Law Enforcement executives from throughout California. In addition to these advanced training conferences, as a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization, the California Chapter of the FBI National Academy Associates provides educational and leadership opportunities to California s youth, including tuition/travel to the FBI National Academy s Youth Leadership Program and other collegiate scholarships. 4 4 Exhibitor Information 2017 Deposit & Terms of Payment A minimum of $250 nonrefundable deposit must accompany the application for space. No applications will be processed without a deposit. Full payment of $895 is due July 21, If payment is not received by that date, booth space is subject to automatic reassignment and deposit will be forfeited. Space allocation will be on a first come, first served basis. Cancellation/Refunds There will be no refunds for cancellations. Exhibit Hours Setup: Wednesday, August p.m. Show: Thursday, August 31 7:15 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Friday, September 1 7:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. Dismantle: Friday, September p.m. Badges & Booth Staffing Each exhibiting company is limited to two (2) representatives per booth. Additional representatives may be added with the purchase of additional identification badges at a cost of $100 per badge. Identification badges may be picked up at the Registration Desk. Badge exchange between Exhibitors is not permissible. This conference requires that all representatives be registered for the conference. Exhibitor representatives who leave the show early are advised to return the ID badges so that incoming personnel may register and pick up a badge. No badges will be issued without identification of the company affiliation. Equipment Passes Exhibitors who need to remove equipment from the exhibit area while the show is open must first obtain an Equipment Pass from Eric Thunberg, Exhibits/Vendor Chairperson. Passes must be shown to security when leaving the area. Exhibitor Sponsored Activities Entertainment, group meetings, etc. shall be conducted only with the approval of the Conference Staff. All requests for approval should be sent to Eric Thunberg, Exhibits/Vendor Chairperson. Exhibit Operations Restrictions The Hyatt Regency Mission Bay reserves the right to restrict exhibits that are deemed to be objectionable due to sound, method of operations, materials, content, or any other reason. They may also prohibit or evict any exhibit that, in the opinion of the management, detracts from the general character of the exhibit as a whole. This reservation includes persons, things, conduct, printed materials, food/beverages, or anything else that the management determines to be objectionable. In the event of such restrictions or eviction the FBINAA, California Chapter, San Diego Division is not liable for any refunds. Exhibitors may NOT use a platform or elevate themselves above the floor to address visitors and/or demonstrate the exhibit. The use of barkers or pitchmen, human or electronic, is prohibited. Gifts & Promotions Exhibitors are encouraged to provide gifts and promotional items for the attendees. We also encourage exhibitors to donate raffle prizes to the FBINAA, California Chapter. Cleaning Services Each exhibitor is responsible for the upkeep of his/her booth throughout the show. Internet access is also available through the hotel. The FBINAA, California Chapter will be issuing a blank passport to all registered attendees. In order to be eligible for a passport related raffle prize(s), attendees will be encouraged to visit and interact with every exhibitor and obtain a sign off from the exhibitor. Only those attendees who have visited every vendor will be eligible for the passport related raffle prize(s). All demonstrations, interviews, or instructional activities must be confined to the limits of the exhibit booth. Motion Picture & Audio Visual Equipment Restrictions The FBINAA reserves the right to restrict, prohibit, or evict any exhibit(s) that, in the opinion of the FBINAA, detracts from the general character of the display due to noise, method of operation, or any other reason deemed objectionable.

5 ADVANCED TRAINER CONFERENCE SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA AUGUST 30 - SEPTEMBER 1, 2017 Photographers All exhibitors who plan on utilizing a photographer for the conference must submit the name of their firm and the name of the photographer to the Exhibit chairperson. Unauthorized photographers and/or camera equipment will NOT be allowed in the exhibit area. Sales & Taking Orders Exhibitors are free to solicit and take orders. Signage Exhibitors may display professionally printed signs within the confines of their assigned booth. Exhibitor signs shall not block or interfere with other exhibitor s signage. The FBINAA, California Chapter reserves the right to relocate an Exhibitor to ameliorate any conflicts. Telephone Service Exhibitors who require a (hard line) telephone may make arrangements for installation by coordinating with Eric Thunberg, Exhibits/Vendor Chairperson. No paging service will be available. Liability It is mutually agreed that the FBINAA 2016 California Chapter, San Diego Division, and the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay shall all have no liability whatsoever with regard to an Exhibitor, his/her employees or business invitee, or any liability for loss or damage to Exhibitor property or the property of his/her employees or business invitee resulting from any cause. It is further understood and agreed that Exhibitors expressly waive all rights to file a claim against the FBINAA 2017 California Chapter, San Diego Division, and the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay for any such damage, loss or injury and that all such liability is assumed by the Exhibitor. Space is leased with the understanding that the FBINAA 2017 California Chapter, San Diego Division, and the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay, and any transport provider will act for the Exhibitor and its representatives only in the capacity of agent and not as principal. The FBINAA 2017 California Chapter, San Diego Division, and the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay assume no liability whatsoever for damages for any act or omission or commission in connection with the said agency. The Exhibitor and its representatives hereby hold forever harmless the FBINAA 2017 California Chapter, San Diego Division, and the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay, and any transport provider from any and all liabilities for loss resulting from any cause. It is further understood and agreed that the FBINAA 2017 California Chapter, San Diego Division, and the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay, and any transport provider shall in no way be liable to any Exhibitor for any lost profits, sales, or business opportunities or any other type of direct or consequential damages alleged to be due from a breach of this contract. It is understood and agreed that the sole liability of the FBINAA 2017 California Chapter, San Diego Division, and the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay to the Exhibitor for any breach of this contract shall be for the refund of all amounts paid by the Exhibitor to the FBINAA 2017 California Chapter, San Diego Division, pursuant to this contract as exclusive remedy. The performance of this agreement by either party is subject to acts of God, war, government regulations, disaster, strikes, civil disorder, curtailment of transportation facilities, or any other emergency that would materially affect either party s ability to perform this contract.
