4 1.5 Promoting sustainable trade policies 14 Program on the Promotion of Human Capacities in Trade Law and Policy UR Global program for SECO Priority countries to promote human capacities in trade law and policy based on two major components: i) developing an academic network to develop regional competence centers for trade law and policy, (in case of Vietnam located at the Foreign Trade University in Hanoi); ii) scholar-ship for participation at WTI MILE. 5 2.2 Improving compliance with labour standards 17 Sustaining Competitive and Responsible Enterprises (SCORE) UR Assisting SMEs to become more sustainable through good labor practices, thereby clear linkages between bottom line issues of quality and productivity to areas of primary concern to the ILO, including health and safety, working conditions, workplace relations and social dialogue. 7 26 Environment and Social (E&S) Risk Management Program UR Induce FIs in Vietnam, Indonesia, China, Thailand, and the Philippines to adopt, implement as well as enforce internationally agreed E&S standards and thus boost the E&S audit performance throughout the region USD 5.7 Mio (global budget, of which USD 1.5 Mio for VN) Beneficiary: banking sector regulators, commercial banks eager to improve their ESRM, banking associations and independent research and training centers 27 Private Infrastructure Development Group (PIDG) UR Under this global initiative, the project Coc San Hydro Power is active. It aims at increasing the renewable energy supply and reduce carbon emissions by mobilizing private sector investments in vital infrastructure. 9 3.3 Strengthening public service and regulatory framework for wastewater and solid waste management 31 Wastewater and Solid Waste Management - Program North II UR Improvement of sewer systems, construction of intermediate pumping stations, construction of Wastewater Treatment Plants, solid waste management measures, institutional strengthening and capacity building in four provincial centers. Additional applied research conducted by Eawag looks at sustainable options for managing faecal sludge. EUR 5.3 Mio (+ CHF 750'000 for additional applied research) Beneficiary: Provincial People's Committees, Water Utilities Implementing Agency: KfW, Eawag 32 Ba Ria Vung Tau Wastewater Collection and Treatment Project UR Equip a waste water treatment plant, establish household connections financed by a revolving fund, technical assistance to Drainage and Sewage Company (BUSADCO) CHF 11.8 Mio (of which 7.65 Mio grant money) Beneficiary: Provincial People's Committee/Ba Ria Vung Tau Urban Sewerage and Drainage Company, Women s Union Implementing Agency: Swiss Supplier Alpha Umwelttechnik, BUSADCO 3.4 Supporting integrated urban infrastructure development 33 WB, Green Transport Project Ho Chi Minh City UR The Green Transport Project s objective is to improve transport efficiency through the shift from private to public transport and to enhance integration with land use, thereby contributing to economic development and a reduced environmental impact along a high priority corridor.
