6 COD for Award Year Over the weekend of March 24-26, 2017, COD implemented the New Award Year Setup (NAYS) for Award Year (AY)

7 The NAYS for AY included a new COD Schema Version 4.0c All AY award data MUST be transmitted to COD using the new schema 4.0c COD will continue 100% XML Schema Validation 7

8 COD enforces strict 100% Common Record XML Schema Validation If the incoming document fails 100% Common Record XML Schema 4.0c validation the document will NOT be processed Batch Level Reject COD will return Reject Edit #210 COD will no longer return Warning Edit #211 on Common Records submitted in XML Schema Version 4.0c Common Records constructed in prior XML Schema Versions could still receive Edit Code #211 8

14 COD added an Anticipated Disbursement Queue with the implementation of COD for Award Year Found under the Batch Tab Will display all pending disbursements from all active award years NOT the Action Queue you re used to seeing and using The old Action Queue will remain and be used by FSA Payment Analysts for schools on HCM2 and Reimbursement funding methods 14

18 COD plans to provide a SAS Disbursement Detail on Demand report for the Pell Grant Program Request via the Report Requests screen on the COD Web Comma Delimited w/headers format only Report Activity Type provides three options Year-to-Date Monthly Date Range 18

19 ED recently announced plans to restore Pell Grant eligibility for eligible students who were unable to complete their program because of the closure of their institution AY and forward Federal Pell Grant Restoration Ed is still exploring the operational changes to implement The plan is to ensure all eligible students at or near their lifetime limit will see this change automatically Includes students whose institution MIGHT close going forward 19

20 Pell Grant Restoration will be implemented in two phases Phase 1 should be complete with implementation of the COD release for Award Year FSA systems will monitor a student s Pell Grant Lifetime Eligibility Used (LEU) Adjusted eligibility will be displayed on both the COD and NSLD Websites Adjusted data will be included on Pell Grant reports generated by COD The Department will conduct an outreach to affected students 20

25 COD will implement a pop-up window to notify those users logged in to the COD Web that their session will be ending A pop-up window will appear 5 minutes prior to the end of your session and will count-down remaining time before COD ends your session Option to remain active or to end your session Continue will keep you on the current screen Log Off will take you back to the COD Web Home Screen 25

26 COD Login authentication will be moved to the Access & Identity Management System (AIMS) AY and forward COD will display a login button that shall redirect the user to the AIMS login page User will enter User ID, Password, and Two-Factor Authentication value on the AIMS login page Existing COD Web usernames and passwords (AIMS IDs) will remain valid 26
