There are a lot of great things happening in and around our Lodge. I especially want to thank the PER s for their continual work at raising funds for the many good deeds that they do. At the Farm Event on July 17th, they presented two $500 Scholarships to Olivia Meadows and Kaci Wright, grandchildren of several of our members. Your support of the Steak Dinners and Raffles has helped make this possible for them to do. We have many upcoming events, both at the Club and Farm. Please come join the fun! Hope to see you there. Bob Allison PER, Exalted Ruler A Message from the Leading Knight I hope everyone is enjoying their summer I know I have been! As the Leading Knight, one of the things that I am in charge of is the annual Family Picnic, which will be held on Saturday, August 28, We will begin activities at 2:00, and eat around 5:00. I am in need of anyone who has ideas, or that wishes to help out. You can contact me ASAP; at I am having a meeting on August 12th to finalize everything that will be happening that day. We are in need of cakes, cookies, brownies, etc., for the cake walk. If you can donate, please contact Jean Evenden at , or let me know. Or you can just bring them the day of the picnic. We plan to have a lot of fun activities, so please mark your calendars for Saturday, August 28th. Hope to see you there. Sara Dunavent PER, Leading Knight A Message from the Lecturing Knight I am currently working with a committee to get our By-Laws and House Rules current and up-to-date for the Grand Lodge. We have been busy reviewing the past submitted changes, and discussions have been very good. As soon as everything is done,we will be mailing the changes to you, so you can see what, if any, changes we will need to vote on. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at the Club. Dan Szklany Lecturing Knight ADVERTISING FOR A THANK YOU to all who advertised in the newsletter this past year. Because of your advertising, we were able to help offset the cost of the printing and mailing, and get the news to you every other month, instead of 4 times a year. If you are interested in advertising in this newsletter, please contact Sally Dunavent at or emai at: mysadiecat01@yahoo.com The ads will run concurrent with the Lodge year. Cost of an ad is $100, and must be received before the ad can run. There s still time to get your ad in our next newsletter to be printed the beginning of May, to get out to our members by June 1st.

If you are interested in hosting one of these, and have a specific date and/or meal, please let Sally Dunavent know at SPECIAL THANKS Thanks to Paul Bryant and Bob Rohr, and all of their workers for the fine job they did for the Barbecue on the Lawn. We had another nice evening with great cooperation from the weather. Also, thanks to Alan & Sally Dunavent for their help in early July. They made her famous Italian Chicken. Thanks to everyone who helped in any capacity. Lodges that will be visited during the day include: Bellefontaine, Springfield, Xenia, Dayton, Troy, Sidney, and Indian Lake. Cost is $30/person and includes lunch at Xenia, and pizza when we arrive back at the Bellfontaine Lodge. More info is posted at the Club, or you can contact Tom Hawkins, or Sally Dunavent. With the proceeds from those events, we were able to award two $ Scholarships at the Farm on July 17th. The winners were Olivia Meadows and Kaci Wright, grandchildren of Fred Meadows, Stu Inderrieden, and Doug Wintringham (and their spouses, of course!). Our next event is the sub sale. The sale begins September 1st, and will run through the 30th. We will be assembling them on Saturday, October 9th, and pick up will be right after they are assembled. As far as we know, the prices will remain the same as last time- $4.00 each, or 4 for $ Thanks in advance for your purchases. We will be having another Steak Dinner some time later in the year. The drawing for our Christmas in July was held on Friday, July 30th. Winners will be announced in the next newsletter. WHAT S HAPPENING AROUND THE LODGE Sally Dunavent & Larry Baugher THANKS TO DOUG SNYDER, PDDGER, for helping us attain funds to help out the Piqua Fire Department. On July 12, we presented them a check in the amount of $652.50, which they used to purchase Dive Rescue Harnesses. HELP NEEDED: I am looking for someone (or more than one) to help out with folding, sealing and labeling the newsletters every other month. It doesn t take long when it s more than one person doing the work. Also, I am looking for someone to eventually take over collecting info for and typing the newsletter. Mark your calenders for Saturday, September 4th, and plan to attend the Luau out at the Farm. Shirley and her crew are busy finalizing all the details for this fun event. So far, we know that there is going to be a pig roast, special drinks, grass skirts,etc. We are also having a steel drum band play. They are Steel Expressions out of Arcanum (and our own Sally Dunavent is a member). Watch the club for details, and to sign up. Don t miss this fun time.
