Clients receive a semi-private cubicle office space with lockable storage, a phone, complimentary wireless connection, a business address and use of four beautifully appointed conference rooms. 5 EMERGING GROWTH CENTER A Center for Quickly Growing Companies Specialized Business Coaching Entrepreneurial Education ProgramS WEOC is a statewide program based in Fort Wayne, and strategically located in and operated by the Northeast Indiana Innovation Center (The NIIC). Contact us today to get started on your business. The Emerging Growth Center features large spaces for clients needing more than 2,000 square feet. It is both a facility for graduate clients as well as second stage and growth stage ventures desiring more independence while also taking advantage of the amenities, infrastructure and positive brand association with the NIIC. Formal Applied Entrepreneurial Learning The NIIC is the regional leader in community entrepreneurial outreach and education. This includes lean startup, fast test, acceleration and immersive and experiential learning. NAVIGATOR Your Entrepreneur i al GP S 8 Women s Economic Opportunity Center (WEOC) TM NIIC Navigator online toolset, Your Entrepreneurial GPS, will launch in the first quarter of 207. It is designed to provide a customized roadmap that recognizes the uniqueness of each entrepreneur and their path to venture success. This includes starting, building, and growing a business. The NIIC Navigator recognizes that planned paths change and re-routes in real time to create both a history and tasks/training for your new path. The NIIC Navigator is available to both resident and remote NIIC clients. We offer timely and immediate assistance to women entrepreneurs at any stage in their venture path, from business idea and start-up through growth and expansion. WEOC was designed to understand and respond to the unique needs of women entrepreneurs. WEOC is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the US Small Business Administration. Mentor program Guidance & Support for the NIIC Clients The NIIC s Mentor Program delivers guidance and support to clients by pairing them with external, volunteer mentors with a similar business focus as them. The NIIC volunteer mentors have the depth of experience and knowledge to provide transactional mentoring for quick results. 9

6 talent nexus Student Venture Lab (SVL) Program Qualifications Mentoring Women Entrepreneurs one - four owners At least one of which must be a Northeast Indiana high school, university student, or recent graduate within the last 3 years low capital needs And a quick path to revenue PORTABLE VENTURE One that may be taken to college and then moved back to Northeast Indiana NORTHEAST INDIANA A sincere intent to locate long-term in Northeast Indiana Innovative Venture A technology venture or a highly innovative, game-changing non-tech venture Women s Economic Opportunity Center (WEOC) assists women entrepreneurs who face barriers in starting their own businesses, including access to equity, mentorship and growth tools to create successful businesses. WEOC and Diverse Talent Strategies partnered to offer a program uniquely developed for women entrepreneur needs. A key component of the program is mentoring. Creating and nurturing mentoring relationships is key to entrepreneurial success. This program pairs women entrepreneurs with mentors to help advise them through the challenges they may encounter. The program also includes curriculum-based leadership skills training modules, aligned with unique networking opportunities to connect them to professional business leaders. For SVL ventures completing all 3 program phases, the NIIC could provide up to $3,500 funding support. STUDENT VENTURE LAB (SVL) program 0 Young business owners who are accepted into the program receive a cash investment plus in-kind investments that include a bundle of office space on The NIIC campus and personal coaching. 2 3 PHASE : PHASE 2: PHASE 3: Business Model Search Student - Owned Startup Ventures This SVL Program offers a unique opportunity for entrepreneurial-minded students high school and college to potentially start a business. Based upon the highly successful model used by technology startup accelerator TechStars, The NIIC s SVL Program offers seed investment and much more to selected student-owned startup technology ventures. Business Model Execution Scale & Grow PHASE : During the Phase of the program, ventures are expected to build a 2 PHASE 2: Ventures that have shown tangible progress during Phase may 3 PHASE 3: A third-round of funding/coaching is also possible for promising ventures. product demonstration, create a business model, and validate both of those with prospective customers. At the end of Phase, each venture demonstrates their product and their customer-validated business model at SVL Demo Day to an audience of investors, bankers, and leaders of the region s business and technology community. receive a follow- on cash and office space investment for Phase 2.

7 mirro Student Founder award Outstanding Student Venture Lab (SVL) Clients The Signature Event Series also serves as a platform to recognize an outstanding NIIC Student Venture Lab (SVL) client. Established in 205, the award was named after Dr. Mike Mirro, a prominent physician, entrepreneur, visionary, researcher and community leader. Dr. Mirro was the founding board chair of The NIIC. Award recipients are selected from clients of The NIIC SVL Program. The SVL offers student entrepreneurs an opportunity to start and grow a business in a supportive, success-focused environment. The SVL offers seed investment and much more to selected student-owned startup ventures.
